Reading Express Sign Big and Fast
Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski today signed two new players. The Express, signed offensive lineman Chris Nunn and wide receiver/kick returner Tavis Laws. Nunn is a 6’10” 365lb lineman from Riverside High School in Charleston, West Virginia and Division II Glenville State College also in West Virginia. Laws is a 5’10” 185lb wide receiver from Sherando HS in Stephens, Virginia and he played his college football at Division II Shepherd University in West Virginia.
Chris Nunn comes to The Express with professional indoor experience as an all league lineman for the Huntington Heroes in the 2006 season. Chris was signed with The Pittsburgh River Rats in 2007. Chris was also a nationally ranked shot put and hammer thrower during his collegiate career.
Tavis Laws comes to The Express after playing professional indoor football last season in the CIFL. Tavis brings a triple threat to the Express line-up. Primarily, Tavis is a wide receiver, but can play defensive back and his speed makes him a dangerous return threat.
“I look forward to both these players coming to Reading,” said Nowotarski. “These two players represent the type of players we look for as an organization to place ourselves in the best position to continue a winning tradition here in Reading.”

I cant believe Nunn is playing football again. His knee is so bad his Doctor wouldnt clear him to play at all last year. Good luck with him, but I wouldnt bet on him making it through the season.

He must have been cleared and is healthy or they wouldn't had signed him.
At the rate we are going will have a whole team before some teams start signing.

I've been working for a physical therapist for the better part of the last year and he has been working with me to rehabilitate the injury to the best of my abilities. I had suffered a dislocated patella and a sprained ACL shortly after the 2006 season which Dr. Cooke believe never had time to heal properly due to myself training too soon post-injury. I have been told now that I should be able to play after performing rehab for the last 6 months. I have done a significant amount of work underwater to keep the pressure off my knees as they have healed. I believe I can make it through this season without injury and be a beneficial part of the team.

Welcome Chris!! You picked the right team. I hope the injury is healed for the most part. You know an injury like that is hard to come back from. You do have some big shoes to fill and if Bernie signed you, I am sure you can come close to if not completely fill them.
