Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski today re-signed Express Fan Favorite, Defensive Backs Marcus Sargeant and Anthony Jackson . Marcus is a 5’10” 190lb and played his college ball at Lackawanna. Sargeant brings back to the Express a hard nosed, aggressive attitude backed by 12 interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns, during the 2007 season. Marcus brings the type aggressive and emotional play that I look for in our defensive backs. I am glad to have him back and I know the legion of Sargeant fans will also be glad to see #24 back in Express Blue, giving them his signature “Crowd Salute”.
Anthony is a 5’11” 190lb and played his college ball at Texas A&M - Kingsville. During the 2007 Season Anthony had 7 interceptions 1 of which was returned for a touchdown. Anthony also had over 100 tackles on the top ranked Express defense. Anthony is another d-back that plays with a great deal of intensity and I am glad to have his experience and work ethic back at camp this year.
