Let me be the first to congratulate the Express on their victory. Enjoy it gentlemen, I know what it feels like. I'll be rooting for you in Florence! THANKS Ron! Your a class act! As far as the game went it wasnt looking good for the Express early off. We were down by double digits but managed to grit it out and take a lead into the lockerroom at halftime. The 2nd half was back and forth and at no time did it appear that any team was gonna run away with a win. I would say the last 5 minutes or so was where things changed. The crowd got way loud, the loudest i have ever heard it for a game, and the defense fed off that. Forcing int's and the Canton QB to throw the ball away in the final minutes were the keys to solidifying the win. I want to congratulate Canton on a heck of a game as well as the Canton coaching staff. I think we are on the verge of some sort of rivalry here. The games always seem to be tough. Also cant forget the Ownership, Express front office, coaching staff and players. While this has been an incredible season the past 2 seasons have been above and beyond what any of us Expressfans could have expected. Last but not least gotta THANK the 9th man, The Fans. We absolutely played a part in this and the players know and appreciate everything that we have all done to support them. Hope to see all you Expressfans as well as Aifafans down in Florence in a few days. As i told some of the Express players we'll be at the same hotel as them but we'll "try" to keep the noise level down.......... Go Express Gene EFC President www.expressfans.com

That was a great game to watch. Great that we were able to pull it out in the end. It was a great effort from both teams.

Awesome game, Canton has a great team. Offense, Defense all looked tough early on. Gene pretty much captured it all. It was one blow after the other. Canton's D-Line was causing all kinds of pressure early. A big key to this game was Reading's O-Line putting a stop to that.

(P.S. I'm a post newbie, but have been reading these boards all season -- Thanks for them!)

Can #18 leave the State?
Official Reading Express Press Release: I would like to start out by saying that we respect, admire, and support all of the local police forces and the men and women who literally risk their lives every day in serving our community and fellow citizens. The police force should be respected and appreciated. In light of the events over the last several days that resulted in charges filed against Carmelo Ocasio, our organization had to make a very difficult decision in a week that we should have been celebrating our season's victories. Although this was a difficult decision, after careful consideration of numerous factors, Carmelo Ocasio will be playing in the game Saturday Night. Based on the information that has been presented by all parties up to Thursday afternoon, we will be remaining neutral on any decisions regarding Carmelo until a time that would compel a reevaluation. We are aware that any decision that we make at this point has the potential to insult or offend people. All I can say is that our intentions are all good. At no time did Carmelo's abilities or the importance of our game on Saturday play a factor in our decision. We would have evaluated a 3rd string QB in the same situation using the same considerations. In no way is the decision a sign of disrespect towards our police force. We take it very seriously that the Reading Express players are local roll models to our children and in no way condone or accept any behaviors that contradict this responsibility. Ted K. Lavender President/CEO

I would prob say yes since he is out on bail. His home and family are here so there is no reason for him not to return and go through what he needs to do, if anything.
Great game Canton and it was nice to talk to you at the game for the little bit we did Tim. Class Act. And also don't worry we will bring the CHAMPIONSHIP to the NORTH where it belongs.

Lavender President/CEO He'll be able to travel. Regardless, he didnt seem to be used as much tonite. Our workhorse, and IMO, the star of the game was WR Shawn Foxworth. The Kid played his heart out and made huge catches over the middle. At some point in this game everyone did their job to secure a win. No matter what lies ahead for Carmelo i support him and i told him that after this game. He has done so much for the organization on and off the field that i wont hold one alleged incident against him, no matter what the court ruling. Anyways, this is a time for celebration. Cant wait to see who we play for the League Championship.

We're very excited to know the Express will be playing in the championship game. I'm not a luck believer, but once the final game is over I'll share some more thoughts. I love my team, and am humbled to be a part of such passionate and fun-loving players, ownership, dancers, and staff!

I love my team, and am humbled to be a part of such passionate and fun-loving players, ownership, dancers, and staff! I agree with that LOCO. I must admit you do an excellent job entertaing the crowd and i couldnt think of a better mascot for the team. While i am on the subject here i also have to point out the work ethic and tireless efforts of GM Bernie Nowotarski. Though this organizations success is an overall team effort i think we can all agree who the "heart" of the team is. Bernie goes well above & beyond to make this whole thing work. I consider it to be a privilege to be, even in the smallest ways, associated with this organization. Despite the fan clubs late start this season things are looking up for the future. We have amassed a good amount of members this season and it can only grow from there. Win, lose or draw, i have been priveleged to be with this team from the initial press conference which announced a franchise in Reading straight thru to the Championship game in Florence. Though i wished we coulda done more for the team as a club this season, i am excited about what we can do for them in future ones.........

Sports always operate on certain degree of circumstances that shape the course of a season or change it dramatically.
Last season, the Legends benefited from late season signings (Mason, Polk and Cipra) and rode it to the championship.
This season, Mason is hurt, Polk is a Predator and Cipra is in Erie.
The Express earned their championship and I make no excuses for losing. However, I wouldn't be much of a Legends fan if I didn't think the result would be different if all our horses were there.
That being said, I'm extremely proud of our guys for going blow to blow with the Northern Conference Champs.
Congrats again to the Express and to you Gene! We'll have a ball in Florence.

Thanks and for what its worth i think McMullen is a very good QB. He made some throws that were perfectly positioned. Probably one of the best backups i have seen in this league. He could be a starter anywhere........Cant wait for Florence. Now i can drive down on a mission..........
