If you already don't know it..The Express highlight a special charity that we work with for every home game. This weeks charity is also a visual one...we are having the first annual Hero Bowl-Railyard Rumble which pits the F.O.P Lodge #9 Policemen against The Reading Firefighters Local 1803 in a halftime flag football game. All the proceeds from our Home Surplus Chuck-A-Duck and Savage"61"Truck Kick Give-Away will go to The Wertz/Wise Scholarship Fund and Muscular Dystrophy. we are looking for another great turn-out at The Sovereign Center this Saturday. Please find those tables when you enter the arena and support another great cause. Oh bye the way, while your there get ready to make some noise and enjoy 50 Yards of Pure Excitement..Your 9-1 Reading Express

I think this is one of the many great things that this team can do and is doing for the community. This league is meant for the fans and this is a good way to get some people who otherwise might not go to a game and actually really enjoy themselves and come back for more. I am very impressed with what the Express is trying to do this year with the community. You can tell that they are planning to stay in this city for the long run.

Its great seeing the Express picking up the fire and police game, the Royals started it last year and now it has almost become a tradition for both the Royals, Phillies and now the Express.

Lehigh Valley also did something like that last year before at least one game. Very good to see teams reaching out.

Maybe Reading new basketball team, the Reading Railers, will pick it up too. Though, i think that field would be a bit smaller to play on.......

All I have to say is that Little Wertz was the MVP of this game. Playing with guys twice his size and prob 3 times his age, he was not intimidated and scored 2 TDs for the FOP. Maybe a future Reading Express WR? Who knows we will see in the future. Congrats to the FOP for the great game and the win. On a personal note most of the fans near me were proud of him for showing courage in playing in his fathers spot in this game and nothing but hope and happiness to his family. As much as can be expected ofcourse. Respect and Honor to those in uniforms for our city.
