Augusta uses the old Team X turf. and i think they got it from the Stallions. not sure though Our turf is definately not from the Stallions. I attended every game they ever played. Trust me on this one, it's not. The Stallions had the best turf I ever stepped on. Every AF2 teams' field that I stepped on all had great quality turf. Nice & soft. I little cushion in each step. Our turf ranks right up there with Veterans Stadium (Philly) and the Astrodome. Just being honest. We got to get something with an AF2 quality to it. The turf we have now could've been the Stallions' old practice turf maybe.

The turf still stinks in Flint, but the team has legitimate ownership. And the players have improved and responded - they took Rochester into the fourth quarter of a very tight game (granted, the Raiders were starting Omar Baker for the first time since 2006 because Mike Mikolaichik blew an ACL).

Columbus still uses the old 'af2' turf! Which was ok until it went from being glorious looking with the 'wardogs' to slightly used with the 'Vipers' to now tore up with the 'Lions'. It looks good from a distance but is wore out to say the least. Needless to say that, when the cottonmouths are in season ,The field spends most of the time being wet!
.........I hope if they are still around they upgrade soon! The ownership group here seems to be solid, so who knows, maybe!

I wish the Lions had their own spot to play! You can visibly see the turf wet on 'Lions TV'! OR So i'm told.
You guys should get outta JBA and build a 4,000 seat arena for the Colts to survive and grow in! Then hopefully the Colts could be used as a model for other teams!
Yeah I know it's not gonna happen but maybe a change like ASU will be just what the 'VET' ordered for ya'll.

and i'm not sure about iceboards actually! Maybe I misunderstood the question. I have always been under the impression that the Ice is always there and revealed during Hockey season. I have never seen the ice be such an issue in years past! I can only assume it's from the worn down and torn nature of it causing it to leak so much liquid onto the field

I can only assume it's from the worn down and torn nature of it causing it to leak so much liquid onto the field The ice (in our arena, anyway) stays put during hockey season and is removed once hockey season is over. Since our seasons overlap, we have platforms (ice boards) put down over the ice before we put the field down. It saves wear and tear on the turf, prevents players getting soaked on the field and keeps everyone safe from frozen and/or slick patches on the field before, during and after the game.

Thanks! Now I know and knowing is half the battle!!!!!!
If they have these boards down I can't tell from where i'm sitting! All I see is water leaking from underneath the floor below! I hope they fix this for the players saftey in the future

Much like I do about Bob. They didn't like what they had going on around them, so they said "screw it" and quit. Only they did it in a different way.
