Little Davey still trying to save electricity??
With how quiet things have been, even if Davey does bring the Freeze back, I probably won't go to has many games this year since I feel I'm wasting my money has long has he owns the team. I'm also made that he lied to someone I know that he'll give him free tics if he did something for the team. He did it but Davey never gave him any tics.

I asked as question on The Sports Blitz on 1330AM regarding the Freeze. They laughed. A lot of people do. If they play this year I'll be surprise if they average 1000 - 2000. People don't like teams that stay quiet and after a bad season see nothing done to try to improve the team. The Otters are looking like they'll going to have a promising season so unless that changes a lot of people are going to opt to spend money on the otters then the freeze.

The meeting actually went well. We gave different ideas on everything from appearances, tickets, coaching/player thoughts, etc. The office should be open soon. Stay tuned.

We had a good session with Dave, lasted 2+ hours. Lots of air cleared and I am optimistically hopeful about the prospects for 08.
We had a good exchange of ideas and suggestions for next season.
Dave asked lots of questions about the 2007 season and gave us an open ear about our opinions.
If we implement some of the ideas we exchanged, their could be good things on the horizon in Erie!!!
GO :smileyfreeze:

I'm glad things are looking up for Erie. I really am.
Just a question... going into the franchise's fourth season, why do you guys think that you needed to point out some very obvious marketing and other operational ideas to ownership? It's not like Hodas is a rookie at this anymore, and the Freeze seemed to do everything right as far back as year one under Mike Esposito.

So while other teams (Express for example) are already building for the upcoming season, the Freeze have a meeting to point out obvious ideas?? It scares me that the ownership needs these things pointed out. One question, after all the and last season will any respected, good players be willing to sign with the Freeze??

I know you guys are afraid to lose another team in Erie, so in some ways something is better than nothing, but c'mon -- Should Dave REALLY need any advice on how to run his team in the fourth year? How about telling him to sell the team to someone who actually WANTS to run a professional franchise.
The Freeze held such promise in their first year and after that have been steadily heading south. There is not one area that I can think of where the Freeze have actually moved FORWARD since they got rid of Espo.
Marketingand promotions - worse Website updating and PR - worse Chillers - much worse Most improtantly, team performance - worse (two words: Randall Secky)
I'm done attneding Freeze games anyway for other reasons, so it doesn't REALLY matter to much to me... but it's just tiring to see the same people put so much faith in an owner that is so unprofessional and so complely undeserving of such unflagging support. Erie has proven with the SeaWolves and the Otters that it is willing to support minor league sports, but the Freeze have done NOTHING to make anyone other than diehard fans care if they even play a fourth season.
I'm going to make a bold prediction and say that Davey and the Freeze will be able to trot some type of team onto that awful turf again this season. It will have a few of the same guys on it, and might actually win a few games, but their biggest claim to success will be "we played all of our games" (which of course was the league's big statement of pride last year). Good luck to you guys, but I think it's going to be another LONG season.

No self-respecting palyer is going to sign on this team with the current ownership and the fact that little Davey still does not know what he's doing is more prove he needs to sell the team. Wonder if Espo saw this coming and thats why he decided to high tail it out of town.

Look, the meeting wasn't us (fanclub) giving Hodas advice. We told him our concerns and suggested ideas. Giving advice would be something to the effect of telling him how to effectively market his team by having better community awareness or to bring in minority investors to help with expenses, but I digress.
Rich it's a shame that you will not be around to support the Freeze, but the show must go on.
Excuse me, I need to mix up some more kool-aid...
