Unfortunately NO.
J. Sitter was picked and wanted to attend, but his work commitments prevented him from going. We had heard that C. Blackshear had contacted the Freeze and stated that he wanted to attend. We heard nothing more and he was not there. Joe and Mr. Morris had talked to each other early last week and he told Joe that he hoped that we could get anyone on the Freeze that wanted to play to go. The league wanted to have somebody from EVERY team participate. Joe tried in vain to contact the Freeze office and get them to either get in contact with possible players or to give him numbers so he could try to contact them himself. On Tuesday after hearing nothing from the Freeze, Joe sent messages out to the players that we had contact with through MySpace. We offered to provide transportation (riding down with us) and a place to stay (sharing our hotel room). While we were at a rest stop in W. Virginia on Wednesday, we got a call from A. Peluso. We explained the situation and the fact that we had already left Erie. He couldn't believe that we weren't going to have anyone at the game. Mr. Mink spoke to D. Hodas, I can't remember what day it was, and he told him that they would be there on Saturday. At the tailgating we had owners coming up to us asking why D. Hodas wasn't there. And we didn't have any answers to give and we still don't know why they weren't in attendance. Needless to say I was quite upset that we were the only representation that the Freeze had in Florence. But I am proud to say that we carried the Freeze banner high while we were there and did our very best to show that we have some of the best and most dedicated fans in the AIFA!!!!! We suffered through a horrible 2007 season and we look forward to rising up from the ashes and having a very successful 2008.

Wonder if Nick Scott or anyone else in town with a bunch of money just laying around would consider buying the Freeze? At this point it's a little hard to swallow all of the talk about the current ownership's commitment to making the team a success. What sort of message does it send to the players that could have made it down to Florence that the ownership didn't even go, or see fit to tell them about Joe and Scooter's more-than generous offer of free transportation and room? This is just a poor showing by the Freeze organization. Luckily they at least have dedicated fans.

If you had millions, you'd be over qualified.
Just for perspective... were there a lot of owners there (besides Reading and Lakeland's)?

Ok, just wondered if it would be unsual for Hodas to be there. Seems like owners attending was more the norm.

and i know there were a few other southern owners there, i just didn't get a chance to talk with those...but yea, the owners seemed interested in meeting with each other...i believe it was a real good week 4 owners to be there

Thank you Joe and Scoot for representing the Freeze. :smileyfreeze: I thought of going for the fun of it but I had a wedding to get drunk at. I'm very disappointed at the Freeze organization for not contacting any players and for Hodas for not even showing up. Does not show good commitment to the league or team.
