Was in Erie last weekend and saw the new convention center. Will the Freeze play there or still @ Tullio ?

Still at the Tullio. Providing we have a next year. But, there are proposed alterations to update the Tullio. And, on a side note. I'm hearing the Casino is interested in building a huge Civic Center out in Summit. And they will definately take the Otters hockey team from Erie.(from very reliable source at casino). But when, I do not know.

The convention center was a state funded project I believe, but they totally dropped the ball. They had the opportunity to finally put an arena on the bayfront, but instead decide to build a structure the shape of a boat.... I just can't believe how people are so stupid. They expect conventions to come there in the winter months!? pffffffffffffffffffff

Hopefully everything will work out. Do not believe that you want the games at Casino. went to a Ft. Lauderdale (NIFL) game last year at the Seminole Casino. People seemed very rude. Appearantly there was a concert scheduled for the following nite. When the game ended the field was flooded with workers tearing up the field to get ready for the next nite. Was told later that the team always had scheduling conflicts with the casino.
Enjoyed my couple days back home. Erie has never been real smart about what they do. Although the marina area along the bayfront Rd. looks nice unless you count the elaborate bus terminal and sewage treatment plant

I would be all for having the Freeze play at the casino. It would benefit me because I don't live in Erie, so I wouldn't have to go all the way downtown for games. However, anyone that's not coming from south Erie county will probably find going to the casino more of a PITA (unless you have easy access to I-90 coming from the east or west).
If Presque Isle Downs can get their hands on the Freeze, I think it can only benefit them. They have money to burn. New turf anyone?

If both the Freeze and Otters go to the casino, conventions go to the convention center, whats left for Tullio? Concert every now and then? I'm all for the Freeze going to casino civic center, I hate driving through downtown erie, more true at night.

But if the casino builds something, I bet they will have the dollars to book bigger acts and be able to take a lose if they don't sell enough tickets. I see that another show at the Warner was cancelled. I imagine it was because of ticket sales. The Tullio's days may be numbered.

C'mon guys you're looking at this the wrong way. Our current field is in great condition. Not to mention how well the Civic Center looks. I mean for Erie standards, it's top notch! And honestly, do our players need any protection from the concrete? Of course not! What do you think the pads are for?! DUH!!! I did send in some suggestions like using the indoor/outdoor plastic grass carpet I saw at Lowes the other day. I tell ya what, with a little paint and elbow grease, you could make one cool field with that stuff.
