A great turnout at the tryouts today. Almost 50 tried to become pro football players. I saw some very very fast runners (4.1 , 4.2 on the 40). Very agile bigmen for the line. And atleast 5 kickers. My guess would be the final roster coming sometime this week.

4.1 and 4.2 my ass... if you had 4.1's you wouldn't be trying out for a minor league indoor football team, you'd be running in the Olympics.

Got this from Wikipedia........
The fastest time officially recorded by the NFL was 4.29 seconds by Deion Sanders in 1989, although the NFL did not begin electronic timing until 1990. In the electronic timing era, the fastest recorded time at the NFL Combine was 4.31 seconds by cornerbacks Fabian Washington, Chris McKenzie, Carlos Rogers, and Darrent Williams in 2005.

Thank you...
4.4's and 4.5's are excellent speed for this level, and the best we should ever expect to see.

"Harvin and Ginn are not one-man offenses, of course. It is because Florida and Ohio State have other talented receivers that these two are so effective. An already-stressed defense is ill-equipped to put more than one defender on the fastest player on the field. And it is well-established that these two, both of whom have run 40-yard dashes in the 4.3s, are as fast as anyone in college football. Unfortunately, none of the players did run a 4.1 or even close. There were some very quick and very talented players at the tryout and many of them should get a shot when camp opens. The majority of the players came in at the WR and DB position, so there could be a good battle in the upcoming weeks. I'd say their times were in the 4.4-4.5 range for the quickest - as opposed to the "unofficial" times being quoted before. I know the players told Joe 4.1-4.2, but who doesn't lie to Joe?
