(November 20, 2006 – Erie; Pennsylvania) Erie Freeze Franchise Operations Director, Christina Lutsch remarked, “The Erie Freeze is all about opportunity!”
When followers of the Freeze hear that line, automatically they may think of the prospects afforded to players looking to jump start a career in pro football or looking to build a resume to move on to “the next level.”
When it comes to the Freeze organization, there’s opportunity at every position of the franchise and the club is extremely proud of the professional journey taken by the former captain of the Erie Chillers Dance Team, Jennelle Johnson. Miss Johnson spent the past two seasons as the Captain of the ultra-talented “Chillers” that rock the “Igloo” at every home game along with multiple personal appearances around the Erie area. The 24-year old, originally from Pittsburgh, is a Penn State Behrend graduate and a supporter of Erie sports.
Miss Johnson parlayed her years of experience with the Freeze and the “hip hop” dance group CRAVE into a position on the cheerleading squad of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2006-2007 season.
Ms. Lutsch added, “It’s no surprise to us with the Freeze that Jennelle has joined one of the premier dance teams in the country. Her tireless dedication to her art and our team should be a welcome addition to the Cavs. Everyone in the Freeze organization wishes her the best of luck.”
The Chillers plan to hold the first and only tryout for the upcoming 2007 season on Saturday, December 9, 2006. The tryout will be held at the Avalon Hotel, 16 West 10th Street; Erie, Pennsylvania 16501. Registration commences at 9:30 am with the tryout scheduled from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm.
