Canton Legends Host Season Kick-Off Party, Honor 2006 Championship Team

The Canton Legends hosted a 2007 Season Kick-Off and Championship Ring Ceremony at the Fox and Hound English Pub and Grille on Sunday January 14. Players and coaches on the 2006 Canton Legends Championship team received their Championship rings in front of 100 fans and sponsors. Fans were introduced to new Legend players and new coach Mike Brown.
Emcee, Coach Ed Korns, introduced the Lady Legend Dance Team and the new Leatherhead Booster club-the official fan club of the Canton Legends. Those interested in becoming a Leatherhead and enjoying VIP benefits may contact the Canton Legends at [phone] for more information.

The 2007 Season Kick-Off and Championship Ring Ceremony was sponsored by McKinley Grand, World Gym, Sign Pro, SARTA, Knights Inn, Chic-Fil-A, Army and Dr. Coss. The host site, Fox and Hound English Pub and Grille-located at 4770 Everhard Rd NW-is the official Legends post-game party venue. Fans can join Legend players and coaches there after every home games.

The Canton Legends kick-off their season on the road February 2 against the Johnstown River Hawks. The Legends first home game is Friday, February 9 at 7:00 at the Civic Center. They will begin defense of their championship title against the Erie Freeze. After home games, fans can meet and take photographs with players. For ticket information contact the Legends at [phone].

It was a very nice event last night. The F&H is a step up form last year's post game party center. The rings ... the rings are awesome and huge!!! I'll try to get pictures of them to post here.

As far as the Leatherheads go, the team has made a commitment to promote the club and we have our first meeting scheduled for Saturday. Things are looking up.

What about group ticket pricing in Erie? I'm working toward that being our first road trip.

I saw Coach Bechtel's tonight, not too shabby... although we don't understand why it's all black? He said when they got fitted that it was supposed to be the team's wine and gold colors.

I also got some updates on the Legends' roster, looks like a lot of core players will be back, even the nomad QB Kevin Mason. Randy Knapp is hanging them up for a season, he's getting married this summer.

Yeah, I was waiting on some sort of official announcement (which I thought was supposed to be made last night), but there are about 15 returning players.

Mason & Polk are both supposed to be back.

Cipra, Hall and Hayes are back too.

Knapp is not returning and Schwaberow is in Marion.
