Huntington Heroes Announce Faith and Family Night The Huntington Heroes of the AIFA are excited to announce that they will host a Faith and Family Night on Friday April 11th, 2008 before and during their game against the Pittsburgh RiverRats. To make the event even more exciting, the Heroes will be bringing in nationally recognized Christian recording artists New Method to perform a concert before the game, as well as sing the National Anthem. New Method has performed for thousands of individuals through radio, television, and live performances, including the Faith and Family Night Tour. The tour events have included stops at the Meadowlands, Soldier Field, Mile High Stadium, Arrowhead Stadium, Six Flags, and Walt Disney World. Host organizations have included the Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Wheeling Nailers, Columbus Destroyers, Fayetteville Guard, Chicago Fire and the Durham Bulls, among many others. The band has had two Top 20 singles on the radio charts nationally and was a winner in the national songwriting competition sponsored by NACAS in Nashville, TN. New Method was just listed at #6 on the Contemporary Christian Music Magazine top 100 of 2007 list. You can find out more about the band at www.newmethod.net. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are available to Faith and Family Night. Any interested company or organization should contact Chip Rossetti at 304-751-7129. Discounted group tickets are available for this game and every other game on the Heroes schedule. Call the Heroes office at 304-781-6800 for more information.

Does this mean we wont be accosted as our bus pulls up like last year or will they just nail us to a cross instead? I cant wait to see how those beer swilling loudmouths that stand behind the visitors bench act on a night like this. Last year they chose to ridicule and make fun of our equipment manager who was born partially deaf and had deformed ears. Yep, its a real Christian environment down there.

Well...I sit on the other side....but I'm glad your were greeted when the bus rolled in I'm sure the fan behavior will be the same as any other game night....I know mine will. However, I do not condone the actions of those that were making fun of an individual who was born that way. I apologize.

wow, ok. Yes you will be greeted the same way in the bus area. There just may be a certain section that will treat you the same way in the game too. Will it be as bad in the game? hard to tell. Depending on how the players react. It is so funny to distract the players from the game and then they get beat on their assignment resulting in a Hero TD.
And nail you to a cross? Huh. I know its faith and family night but thats a bit of a stretch. Maybe we could stone you or something. :-) JUST KIDDING.
Oh, and there is no where to sit behind the vistors bench as the "benches" are behind the endzone, away from the fans. See our diagram for more information

After last Fridays game, I just had to revisit this post. As I shake my head and laugh, why is it Im the only one that saw this coming? As it was written, so was it done. The prophecy according to Larry the Cable Guy, Spiritual leader of the Huntington faithful.

Well I am glad to see that the heroes have come up with their own way of being jack asses. But what goes around comes around, and i guarentee that when it happens the Heroes will complain and cry about it because they got distracted and it resulting in an opposing team WIN. We cant really blame the heroes for their actions, I mean with all them problems going on with the team and the front office how else do you expect rednecks to react? Consider the source and it all makes sense...

I can't wait untill Huntington comes to Erie. I had some special things in mind for the players. Although I understand your feelings, I would hope that the fans in Erie NOT stoop to the level shown by a SMALL group of fans in Huntington. Now as I was on the bench at the time of the incident. I DO NOT CONDONE IT in any way. And nothing can be said that will change the way this small group of fans acted. It was also UNFORGIVABLE that a number of Heroes players were encouraging the fans to continue doing what they were doing to the Erie players and coaches as the incident was escalating. But PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO RETALIATE TO WHAT HAPPENED!!!!! There is NO PLACE FOR THIS IN INDOOR FOOTBALL!!!!! Show the fans that did this act that you are bigger than them and DO NOTHING TO ANYONE FROM THE HEROES OR THEIR FANS WHO MAKE THE TRIP TO ERIE. RETALIATING WILL NOT SOLVE ANYTHING! AND I WILL LOSE ALL RESPECT FOR ANY FAN THAT DOES ANYTHING!

I agree 100% with you. I wasn't indicating that the fans in Erie would do that, we all know that the rats are way more classy than that. Bottom line is that without the Heroes fans acting in such an uncivilized manner the Heroes really don't bring much to the table come game day. One more thing, am I the only one that sees the irony in the lowest class team having a name like "Heroes" and the team colors represent the of our great nation... In my opinion the good old red white and blue shouldn't be degrated by such people.
P.S. "Faith and Family night" in Huntington... ;D thanx for the laugh

Just to repeat what Scooter said, it was a very very small section of fans that displayed this poor behavior. As for the players encouraging it, it's no worse than your players climbing up into the stands after the fans. Things happen both ways, and people get caught up in the moment.

It could be said that Adolph Hitler got caught up in the moment. If it was an isolated incident it would be different. Your fans have a history of this crap and teams are getting fed up with it.
