The league was given only a handful of available dates for that arena. Trust me, you make due with what you have. I'd be glad if thats all I could complain about is a schedule. We don't have a team anymore in Erie.

My intentions were not to be negative. I just was stating the fact that you have a schedule. Maybe it's not perfect and unbalanced.
But remember that you do have a schedule.
You have a team to root for in your town.
You have a good organization and owner.
Isn't that good enough?
Ask yourself this......
If you were a fan in Lakeland or Johnstown or Erie, Would you be complaining about who you were playing or when or how many times or what division you were playing in?
Just take a moment before you are so quick to judge things.
And be grateful for what you have.
I'm sure that the ThunderBolt, RiverHawk & Freeze Fans would take that schedule in a heartbeat......................................

You guys are probably right that the league tried to make the schedules as fair as possible. Unfortunately, this is not the NFL where every schedule works out perfectly. As far as I can tell, there has never been a perfect and balanced schedule setup in any indoor league except for one with four teams.
However, the Huntington fans have every right to be skeptical. They play two more games against the North Division than they do with their own division. They play Pittsburgh three times. They didn't get a promised charity game with Carolina. They have to finish the season with 3 road games in a row. I don't understand why Scooter and Joe are playing the "YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN BECAUSE YOUR TEAM DIDN'T FOLD" card, which is a completely idiotic and unrelated argument. Let the people complain about the schedule if it looks screwed up, I honestly don't think they will feel sorry for those of us following teams without a schedule.

Take your salty tears elsewhere. Having seen what goes into making this league first-hand, I see no proof to validate your ridiculous complaints. Run inefficient? So far this off-season, things are running far better than its first season. If you count the releasing of teams as inefficient then you are not seeing the big picture and the goal of the league. The lack of press releases from the PR guy? You will see them. Good Lord, if Joe did not pass along the information, you would be cryig about not hearing anything at all. Everything that Joe has told you has come to with fruitition. becasue it comes from the league office. This is also the official message board of the league. This is the perfect spot to release news through the people who run this message board. Follow blindly? Not at all. we are fans and have questions and concerns just like anyone else. Instead of flying off the handle and posting defamatory posts about the league, we ask questions. sometimes the answers appeas us, other times, the answers are not what we wanted to hear, but we do not run the league. If the league makes a decision that does not sit well with us, it is still the leagues decision to make. Why doyou think you are owed more than what you are getting? If you post this type of stuff on the NFL site, do you expect the commisiioner of the league to pop onto the message board and explain his decisions? If you answer yes to that, you are beyond help. If you answered no, why do you expect the same from Mink and Morris? Just because it takes a bit longer to type up a release, is not indicative of shenanigans.

I dont get why this stuff bothers you as much as it does? Its professional minor league sports. It aint ever gonna be perfect. You either accept the product as its presented or remove yourself from the situation & save your sanity. I dont agree with everything either but i tend to give them a chance to do the right thing.

You guys ask Questions and we do our best to get you the answers for you as soon as possible.
AND YOU CONTINUE TO COMPLAIN?!?!?!?!?
Joe talks to the AIFA on an almost daily basis, either asking your questions or getting a call from them answering your questions/concerns that are posted on these boards.
TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS: THE AIFA OFFICIALS READ THESE BOARDS DAILY!!!!
THEY WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING AND THINKING!!!!
That is part of the reason that we are getting the info out before the AIFA Site is.
After our meeting in Baltimore we had team reps coming up to us and giving us info about their teams to put up on the boards.
That's how we got the info on the Augusta/CSRA name change for example.
Don't expect the AIFA to post every single tidbit on it's website every day. It's not going to happen.
The day to day info on the AIFA is best posted here on the message board.
Daily news for the daily readers/fans. Kind of makes sense.
And as far as the schedules go AGAIN, Joe has stated several times that the Big Sandy only had so many available dates available.
So I guess my response is take what you can get.
The majority of the owners meetings focused on the schedules.
This had been delayed due to the issues in Erie, Johnstown, Lakeland and Tallahassee.
The AIFA delayed doing the schedules due to allowing these teams EVERY POSSBLE OPPORTUNITY TO RESOLVE THEIR SITUATIONS!!!!
That could be part of the reason that the schedule isn't what you anticipated.
Again it might not be perfect, But you have it.
Try not to be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO critical!!!!!!!!!
During the meetings in Baltimore we talked to teams about getting contacts from them to become active on the message boards. That way if you have questions and concerns you could be able to contact someone from that team to get a response to it. This was well received and is something we hope to have available in the near future.
We are working very hard to get you guys as much info/news as possible. To have open communication between the league and it's fans is critical to the long term success of the AIFA. The AIFA is very aware of this and has done more than a lot of others leagues would.
Come on, They invited fans of the league to attend and participate in it's owners meetings. They gave us an open forum to address YOUR concerns and issues to the owners of the AIFA teams. They listened to and addressed EVERY issue we brought to them.
The issues that YOU THE FANS were given the opportunity to ask here on this board.
How much more do you people want?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

accepting the status quo will not help this or any other league grow and survive. question everything, demand more, and they will improve. you say they read the boards daily - there's my point of why we ask questions and berate mistakes. when they see the flaws in their actions, they will (hopefully) take the necessary steps to correct the mistakes or make it better the next time around. when you are just "happy to have a team" and "take what you can get" you settle for less than perfect. don't EVER settle for less than perfect.

okay, lol, I have to say this... why does the speed play only three divisional games? each at home? as for the big sandy superstore only having certain dates available,? we still have 7 home games, one of those could have been the speed, instead of the Riverhawks.

As it turns out the day that we are playing our second home game against Pittsburgh, Carolina is on the road in Florida. It should have been that the Speed came to us and Pitts went to Florida. As you can see, it had nothing to do with available dates at the arena. In fact, the initial schedule that was made up WAS a balanced division schedule, then it got changed.

okay, so we can see some teams are being favoed in each division. The speed obviously in the east with only three divisonal games at home and the majority of their games out of conference even. In the south Florida has the most balanced schedule with nearly all divsional games at home. The north has two favorites really, Baltimore and Reading. Reading beacuse they get our chairty game (personal there) and Baltimore because (I needn't say).
I can't wait though to fight through all the adversity, go to the playoffs, and finally beat Canton, eventually winning the AIFA Bowl

The problem is that you won't give them a second to identify a problem and resolve it. They know that everything isn't going to be perfect. Name a sports league that is perfect? All you can do is fix the mistakes that come up during a season and improve upon it. They are doing just that. AIFATV didn't work. So they got rid of it and have something better. The same refs called games in the same places every week last season. That is not going to be the case this season. Game Officials will be evaluated on a week to week basis from this season on. We took 9 topics to the meetings last week. Topics that were presented on this board by you the fans. 7 of the 9 issues were accepted by the league. 2 were not. And on the 2 that weren't, we were given specific reasons as to why they couldn't do what was suggested. When we went to Florence we took 30 topics and I believe 25 of them were deemed acceptable by the league. The AIFA is making every effort to put a quality product in front of it's fans. And they do and will continue to listen to it's fans. The fans are a top priority of the league and they are taking every possible step to make the AIFA a top flight operation. All they ask is for the chance to let them do it. Is It Perfect? And again, I'll ask you name someone/something that is. Just be patient and give them the chance to do it. Just look at what they have done in just one season. AH left a BIG mess here and it's just a matter of time before it's all cleaned up.

Neither does constant complaining on public message boards. Why not just email the league directly and ask them rather than post negativity and get other people all fired up? Its M&M's 2nd year. Give'em a chance.
The teams we lost were those teams faults, not the leagues. So M&M replaced them. They have added not only a tv deal but a deal where people can watch on cell phones and the internet. I aint sold on the internet myself cause as i said last season with AIFA TV, the technology isnt where it needs to be to stream video. But the national tv deal is a plus. The league has constant contact with the fans and appreciates them. They have completed our portion of the schedule as per the available dates supplied by the teams and arenas. They have a radio show and newsletter, which the newsletter is published by the fans. ALL in ALL i'd say its a major step up from the old AIFL days, wouldnt you?
