I guess the AIFA changed their mind after the game.... The game no longer counts according to this news story... www.irontontribune.com/articles/2007/03/20/sports/sports327.txtMy questions is since heros dressed 29 players and the game doesnt count...The Blackbirds dressed 30 in their first game does that game not count too?

Can't they just make up their minds and stick to it.

Jeff, I do not understand the obsession with this. Maybe I just do not get you. There has been no mention of the Blackbirds games not counting. Until the league comes out and specifically states such, then this type of rumor spreading and speculation just makes people look silly. If it turns out that the games do not count, i will humbly accept all of the "I TOLD YOU SO's" but until that happens, can we stop running in circles with this. It is really becoming a dead-horse ass-kicking.
I do however agree with you on the league's wishy-washy approach on the subject though.

Just asking a question....the reporter states that because the Heroes were allowed to dress more players than the rules allow the game doesn't count...
My obsession is this....I know what Reading was told by the league...
And the league recently put a little * next to all of the Gulf Coast game saying their games don't count. But, after some of you guys asked why would someone pay for tickets to a game that doesn't count...that little * and statement that the games don't count is no longer there....make you say hmmmmmm
I am a fan first, and want to see all of the leagues inlcuding mine be run professional and be upfront with us fans at all times.

It is a very fair question. But Baltimore has never had the asterisk next to their name as far as I can recall. So, if the games do not count for the Birds or any other team, I agree that it should be clearly reported by the league.

My questions is since heros dressed 29 players and the game doesnt count...The Blackbirds dressed 30 in their first game does that game not count too? No, we (the Heroes) dressed 18. We didn't know until we got there that the Speed (and one would assume that their coach and co owner of the AIFA) decided that it was indeed an exhibition. So they dressed 29. There is another thread on here that explains the whole thing, I'm too tired to repeat it. Good luck with that. We (the fans) have been promised alot with the new AIFA, but we're seeing most of the old mistakes, and a bunch of new ones. Apparently communication with fans from the league level is not a priority, just look at the league website for proof of that. And only a handful of teams are taking the initiative to actually update their websites with current info. at it's best

As an employee of a team, I pose this question:
What can individual teams do to make it better for you, the fans?
The Titans try to put its fans and community first (along with winning games) and to better do so, we need your help. We would love to open up the floor for suggestions, for our team and in general, of what would make the fans happier and more satisfied. We hope to continue to grow as an organization and to lead by example for other teams.
The :smileytitans: thank everyone in advance for the input ... I know this forum will get some good ideas and discussions!

The Titans are one of the exceptions. You all are running a great organization there. You keep your fans informed and you use your website to it's full potential.
You are the example, IMO whether the league and other teams follow is a whole other matter. Keep up the good work

The main thing is to put out a good product, advertise a little, and have a good relationship with the local media so they will give coverage to the team. If you have that and give the locals a since of stability and knowing they are supporting a good product that is by the community and for the community you will do well. I would say your team and our (tupelo) are perfect examples of wanting to do things the right way.

Provide a quality product to the consumers. Let the public know that your product is available and worth having, and buld a loyal fanbase of said product. I truly believe this league will accomplish this. The heart is in the right place. The just need to settle down and focus on delivering the great product they have. Keeping the customers informed and in the loop is also a very important aspect of the business plan as proposed to investors. For all intent and purpose, the fans are the investors in this league.

My guess why the league allowed the Blackbirds game to count is, A) the road team is the one that brought the extra players, B) the home team okayed it, and C) The home team blew the doors off them anyways.
Had Reading gotten wooped by 30 ringers, Reading would've been *****ing up a storm.
To me, the biggest problem with all of this is the fact that there is a partial team. And not just one, but two. To me, although the teams are seperate (GC and Baltimore).
There's way too much that was promised by this new AIFA that aren't being delivered.
The Titans have advertised, they've had their home game video on the net for free, the production is excellent and worthy of being put on TV. They get a great crowd. Have a great team. Have _their logos_ painted on the field. Have ways of getting the crowd into it. And you're not afraid to ask the fans how things can be better.
So many teams have their heads-in-the-sand mentality, they don't want to believe they're doing it wrong. And what's worse, they advertise very ltitle, and wonder why people don't show up.

I kinda feel bad for the Heros getting jerked around like this.....If it hadn't been for the whole logistics thing, they would be playing in the WIFL.
