Four ex-Herd stars returning to Heroes in '07
HUNTINGTON -- Chris Royal, Jamus Martin, Marcus Hairston and Luke Salmons from Marshall University re-signed with the Huntington Heroes for the 2007 season.
The Marshall players are returning from Huntington's inaugural season in the American Indoor Football League. Overall, the Heroes have 10 players signed.
"I feel like we have re-signed some excellent players from last year's team, while also addressing some needs," said Heroes head coach Garry McPeek in a team release. "We are just beginning the recruiting process and will look the country over for the best players; however we feel that we have some great players here in the city of Huntington from Marshall University.
"Marshall players were the nucleus of our team last year and I look forward to that trend to continue."
The Heroes also an-nounced season and individual game ticket prices for 2007 games, which will be played in Big Sandy Superstore Arena. The season begins in February. Huntington will have seven home games.
Tickets in the first three rows from goal line to goal line are $25 individual game; $175 season. All other side seats are $16 game, $112 season. End zone seats are $10 game, $70 season.
Youth ticket prices for children age 3 to 12 on the side are $8 game; $56 season. Youth end zone seats are $5 game, $35 season. Youth ticket prices are not available for seats in the first three rows.
All tickets purchased before the end of October have a 10 percent discount.
Season ticket orders are being taken at the arena box office or by phone at 696-4400. Individual game tickets will be available when the AIFL schedule is announced.
Martin, a lineman, was named to the ALL-AIFL first team.
The Heroes also re-signed Shane Holsinger, a receiver from South Point, Ohio, who led the team in receptions.
Quarterbacks Ramon Robinson and Joey Conrad are signed for 2007. Robinson is a veteran with playing experience in the Canadian Football League and several arena leagues. Conrad played at Glenville State College and was in the AIFL last year.
Other players signed are returning receiver Kenny Davis, lineman Lamont Moore and kicker Adam Jones who played at Morehead State.
