This is the main problem with this sport. Too much turnover. Why didnt the Bolts just join the WIFL last season rather than waste our time? I also have to gripe about the league expanding out west rather than looking for closer teams to the existing franchises here on the East coast. Focusing on teams out in wyoming and not the ones we have here is not helping. I can say i am getting sick of it all together and i see a point in time where i just hang it up and walk away from the sport.
With this news, IMO, last years AIFA Bowl was a total waste of time..........

This move surprises me. My sources had told me pretty definitively that Lakeland-WIFL just wasn't going to happen. This was a couple weeks ago now, so things must have changed.
This is a great addition for the WIFL, giving the Battle of U.S. 92 a third opponent (Orlando-Tampa Bay AFL is the War on I-4, so it's kinda hard to use that twice).
AND - this gives the WIFL some champion vs. champion matchups. The AIFA does still have Fayetteville, which is "sort of" a defending champion, but not in its league.
Assuming it's true, of course.

We mays well double check with the Florida Stingrays to see if they will stick with us this year or make the jump to the WIFL next season. If so, might be best to let them go now. No sense in delaying the inevitable. Why stop there. Mississippi, Fayetteville are also down that way too.
Bottomline here is that there are way too many indoor football leagues. They are all killing each other. If each of them stayed in their region there wouldnt be a problem and the chances that all leagues and teams would be succesful would be very high. Bigger is not always better and spreading out across the USA is NOT the answer.........

Where is your PROOF? State your sources or shut up! You are right, the Stingrays should move now and get it over then.

Last that I heard was there was bickering between the ownership. There wasn't any money problems. There wasn't any concern that they were jumping leagues. They still wanted to play with the AIFA. And that was just last week............with my sources.

There are too many leagues, I agree. The situation will stabilize, if I had to guess, in the next two years - sooner perhaps if some of these leagues emerge as the strongest (which none really has yet).
And Gene hit that one on the head. Where there's smoke, there's fire. There's not a lot of smoke yet here, though.

Bigger is not always better and spreading out across the USA is NOT the answer......... I disagree with your statement about there being too many indoor football leagues. A little more competition among leagues is exactly what this sport needs. If one or two leagues raise the bar, the rest of the leagues will have to follow suit, or suffer the consequences. If this takes place over an extended period of time, there won't be that many leagues at all.

so is this the hard evidence we've all been waiting for?
Does this assure that the Bolts will remain in the 'AIFA' for the '08 season?

so is this the hard evidence we've all been waiting for? Does this assure that the Bolts will remain in the 'AIFA' for the '08 season? This is a message board. Rumors fly off the handle, especially in the off season. So, when someone signs on as the GM for that team and states what he did. Yes, thats all the evidence that you need. Everyone on here has their opinions. And you should treats those as such.
