You are bidding on a piece of Indoor Football history! The Steubenville Stampede will probably hold the record for the franchise that played in the smallest market in all of Indoor and Arena Football in Steubenville, Ohio. But the Stampede will most notably be known for their lack of an effective ownership. The Stampede were an Arena/Indoor Football team that played in the Great Lakes/Continental Indoor Football League (GLIFL/CIFL) in 2007, in 2006 they played in the Atlantic/American Indoor Football League/Association (AIFL/AIFA).
The Stampede experienced two disastrous seasons, both on and off the field, in 2006 the Stampede couldn’t win a single sanctioned league game, and then in 2007 the Stampede started the season 4-0, but the ownership of the Stampede left town leaving hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid bills and debt. After this debacle, the team was replaced by the league with numerous journeymen who embarrassed the residents of Steubenville with 86-0 loses.
This collection is for much if not all of the memorabilia that has been left in my possession of the 2007 Steubenville Stampede. I am selling this lot to recoup some of my expenses and time and energy that was lost on the Stampede.
ITEMS INCLUDED –
* 2007 Steubenville Stampede Game Worn #89 Home ORANGE jersey: This jersey is a size XL made by Dynamic Team Sports and was worn by the city of Steubenville’s own DeJoeve Platt and by Ohio Northern and Ohio Valley Greyhounds (NIFL/UIF) great Steve Vagedes. Jersey is the home orange with white striping similar to the Indianapolis Colts; the shoulders also have a Steubenville Stampede “SS†logo patch and an “Iron City Beer†patch, the CIFL authentic logo appears on the collar, all patches are sewn on. The numbers are screen printed onto the jersey with a silver/grey outlining to the white number, there is NO NAME on the back. The jersey has orange spandex side panels. Of all of the Indoor Football jerseys I have worn, I would say this one “pops†and stands out more than the others I have ever worn.
* 2007 Game Used Football: This football was a game used 2007 Continental Indoor Football League Spalding ball.
* 7-copies of the 2007 Steubenville Stampede poster board quality wall game schedules. Schedules feature Stampede logos and those of Budweiser/Bud Light.
* Stampede staff lanyard
* 196 sets of mardi gras orange beads. These were given out by the Cheerleaders of the Stampede to fans in the crowd.
* 2006 Omaha Beef authentic #1 Home BLACK jersey: This jersey is a size XXL made by Riddell and was never worn in an Omaha Beef or Steubenville Stampede game, it was however modified from an Omaha Beef jersey (by covering the screen printed BEEF on the chest of the jersey, with a piece of black screen print material.). This jersey was worn by the Steubenville Stampede Game day Operations Director; it was worn in all on-field activities and contests. The jersey is black with silver shoulder piping, a silver collar and black spandex side panels. The name on the back of the jersey is a screen printed white “Dan The Fan†and the numbers are silver with an orange outline.
* There may be a few items that I will add to the auction as bonuses, items that may be included are; Stampede and other Indoor Football t-shirts and Ohio Valley Greyhound rally rags.
This lot can be paid for with either a money order or PayPal. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me before bidding.
Shipping: $15.00
All International customers should contact me to calculate shipping costs prior to bidding.
In the state of Ohio, this will be the only way I will be able to collect any of the $1,500 the team still owes me, and the money that the league promised to pay all Stampede staff after the original owner left town. So happy bidding!!!
