The Arena Football League is coming to Cleveland. Team owner Jim Ferraro announced that he has received approval from the AFL Board of Directors to relocate his team from Las Vegas to Cleveland to play at the Quicken Loans Arena for the 2008 season. Ferraro has also named former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar as part-owner, president and CEO of the franchise. "We are excited to be bringing the fast-paced action of Arena Football to the city of Cleveland," said Ferraro in a statement. "We will have one of the best arenas in the League, and Bernie is the perfect match to lead the charge." blog.cleveland.com/plaindealer/2007/10/arena_football_coming_to_cleve.html

Hope that this go around is better than Clevelands' first venture.
The Cleveland ThunderBolts were a disappointing failure in the AFLs' Early years 1992-1994.
Good Luck to them!!!

Good Luck to Cleveland. Hopefully soon the Pittsburgh AFL purposed expansion franchise gets the go ahead and we can continue our Steelers/Browns rivalry in the off-season on the arena football front.

The Cleveland Gladiators. They decided to keep the original name and colors. I like it. So long AIFA hello AFL.
UPDATE: Kosar said that fans will be able to vote on whether to keep the Gladiators name or the new name of the Bulldogs. I choose the later.

The Cleveland Thunderbolts moved from Columbus. I covered their playoff lost in Orlando for the Plain-Dealer. Highlight of the day was when Shaq, who signed with the Magic that morning, shrugged off the handshakes of the Cleveland captains after the coin toss.

I would have to say that the Bulldogs would be the better choice! I don't care for the idea of a team carrying a name from a previous city. You need to give the team something to identify the hometown with. It's a matter of the team moving forward, not carrying around its past. Plus, the Bulldog name would tie in nicely with the Browns! Good Job, Mr. Kosar!!!

www.clevelandafl.comTicket prices to even get up close are astronomical compared to the AIFA. But i'd rather sit up high in the $10 seats to see all the action. I can't imagine how loud the Q will be with Browns fans supporting this team. It's going to be awesome

I plan on getting tickets for the home opener. This is so cool having a AFL team near by, and in Cleveland. I hope they do well.

i''d have to take out a 2nd mortgage to get a pair of season tickets, christ. $10 seats Frosty... But I got a good story about this AFL team... they have a website where you can fill out a form to request info on season tickets or you can call a local cleveland phone number. On friday I called the number 4 times and got this goofy answering machine message featuring Bernie Kosar, who sound like he's taken too many hits to the head... Anyhow, this woman called me and left a voicemail saying she was returning my call concerning season tickets and to call her AT HER HOUSE because she was working at home....... She lives in Las Vegas.... I tried to call the number once and got another answering machine. I said the hell with it. I'm waiting till more info comes out....

Oh great, another Cleveland team with an opportunity to undergo a championship drought for fans to suffer through. I think I'll stick with my Philadelphia Soul.

Hah, funny. Just because the Browns are actually playing .500 ball for once, you think you can start talking down on teams that are 2-4. At least we have a better running back than you guys!
