Hey, I got my own. I went to an Indian-Yankee game in July of 1999 with my parents(my dad is a huge Yankee fan and I followed). The Yankees won 21-1. So BOOYAAA-LOL. :smileymudcats: :smileymudcats: :smileymudcats:

Check the avatar, check the sigline. Need I say anymore? Check the message board! ITS FOOTBALL! Since you live in Pittsburgh, I assume you're a Pirates fans which is why you don't wish to talk baseball. Poor poor Pirates fan, how many losing seasons is this for you in a row again??

You assumed wrong. In 1978 I was drafted by the Montreal Expos (in the 23rd round but hey, I was still drafted). I went to rookie camp and quit when I realized that I absolutely hated baseball, I just happened to be good at it. Instead I went to a Division II school (Slippery Rock) to play football. I have never been much of a baseball fan and least of all the Pirates. They are a very mismanaged team and baseball itself is slow and boring. Its only one step up from watching grass grow (ie golf). I like Football, Hockey and Rugby but I tend to keep them topical, right place, right conversation, etc. But if I had to root for a team it might be the Indians as they do things right. The Yankees and Red Sox tend to buy championships and thats an argument I dont even want to get into. At least Cleveland does it through a good draft and farm system. That said, This is a football board. MLB.com or ESPN.com have nice big boring boards, I mean baseball boards to gloat about a useless sport in.

Wow, you might want to stay out of the "Open Discussion" area then because this is here for non-football stuff.

If you don't like that then stay out of open discussion.

How about open discussions about football in general. Is nothing sacred? Why would you want to talk about another sport on a football message board. Dont these other sports have message boards? Whats next? Brittany Spears? Paris Hilton? The price of bat guano in Ecuador? When you open these boards to anything you end up with arguments about politics and religion and racism. The ESPN boards are suffocating in off topic threads and all it leads to is banning members and filtering responses. If you stick to the topic at hand, FOOTBALL, this will never happen. Excuse the hell out of me for expecting football talk on a football message board.
