Talking to Rich about this. Did anyone realize Bobby Cutts, the man charged with murdering his girlfriend played for the Stampede? Guessing when they were with the AIFL. Article to back that up: www.wtov9.com/news/13538375/detail.html

Imagine living near it!
If Jimbo was successful in getting Steubenville as one of his "target markets," he'd probably try to exploit it in one of his manic phases.

He played for the Legends in year one (I think) and four games in year two.
Picman, can you confirm?

Yes he was linebacker for us in year one, then played for the Steubenville, Not that I knew Bobby well, but I was stuned when this all came down, he even was at my house once to look at pics from that 1st season, at the last home game he stopped by and said hi to me and ask if I had pics from Steubenville game last year he wanted to get some. It just goes to show you you never know

I saw him at a Big Red game up at Fawcett Stadium last fall doing security. Unbelievable. I'm glad that most of the national media has glazed over his 'side job'. Last thing I want is more negativity to Steubenville. Sykotyk

Last thing I want is more negativity to Steubenville. Sykotyk I saw the reporter from the Rep on CNN last night. When asked when he first met Cutts, the reporter responded, "About three years ago. He was playing for the local minor league indoor football team and we did a story on the cop playing football." Looks like they are trying hard to avoid the name of the teams. Legends said they've got a few calls, but not many.

It's impressive that the media has some self control and is keeping the Legends and Stampede out of the story.

Yeah, I was surprised to see Bobby's name pulled into it at first, but like Picman said; you never know.
He played for the Legends in 05 and the Stampede in 06, kinda like Hassan Brown and Sly Brumfield. They didn't make Olive's cut last season so they ran with the Stampede, and played well in the game down there against the Legends...
Talked to Bobby alot this February when he was trying out for the Stampede again... he was deciding if it was worth it or not to keep playing; that the only reason he was still trying was that the game checks went right to his kids' support payments.
I guess you never can tell...

Here's a tidbit from the latest story on the case from CNN.com: www.cnn.com/2007/US/06/26/cutts.profile.ap/index.htmlCutts played football, wearing No. 9, at GlenOak High School, a suburban school whose most famous graduate is goth rocker Marilyn Manson. After he became a police officer, Cutts also played semiprofessional football with the Massillon Bengals in the Ohio Valley League and in 2005 was drafted by the Canton Legends of the Atlantic Indoor Football League.Cutts played softball the evening of June 13 and then spent about four hours at a sports bar in Canton. He told The (Canton) Repository last week that he called Davis that night -- the day before he's accused of killing her -- and that it was the last time they spoke.

When this all hit the news I was shocked. She came to some practices and games in Steubenville with Blake and we enjoyed seeing them. I guess I'm still in shock and wish this was all just a real bad dream. *sigh*
