I am forming a new online fantasy indoor football league:
It's kinda like Josh Stein's Onilne Indoor Football League, but something different.
The league website is:
www.iiflfootball.com
The rules of the game are:
www.iiflfootball.com/html/iifl_rules.html
Rules of the Game
Here you are assigned a random Arena Football League team.
Just for an example (not the official assignment), your team is the Austin Wranglers and the Kenosha Barons are the Chicago Rush. Your sponsor's final score for the week automatically transfers to your IIFL team.
For instance, your team plays the Kenosha Barons this week. Let’s say the Wranglers play the Dallas Desperados this weekend and the Rush plays the Columbus Destroyers. The Wranglers beat the Desperados with a final score of 49(wranglers) – 35 while the Rush LOSE to the Destroyers 69 – 54(rush) That makes the outcome of the Barons vs. your would-be team game: 54 – 49, with the Barons taking home the win in the IIFL.
In the event your sponsor team has a bye week, you automatically take whoever your competitor is playing that week in the sponsor league. Again for example: Barons (Rush) vs. your team (Wranglers) BUT the RUSH have a bye week. The Wranglers are playing the New Orleans VooDoo. The Barons now depend on the outcome of THAT game to fill in their IIFL schedule requirements. Meaning that for this particular week, the Barons are sponsored by the VooDoo.
Again, I would like to emphasise that the example assignments are just examples, your actual AFL sponsor may be different.
Playoffs:
Top eight teams in league go to playoffs (if we reach 10 or more)
FIRST ROUND: #8 plays #1, #7 plays #2, #6 plays #3, #5 plays #4.
SECOND ROUND: Highest remaining seed plays lowest remaining seed, second highest plays second-lowest
INTERNET BOWL: Second-round winners meet.
Sponsorships: If the IIFL playoff team's sponsor is in the ArenaBowl playoffs, they get to keep that team. If not, they are temporarily assigned a new one not being used by a playoff team. This goes on for the next few rounds.
At the end of the season, all teams will have the option of whether to keep their Arena League sponsor, or opt to be assigned a new one not being used.
And don’t forget, this is a MANAGEMENT game, so the league may throw some things in your way during the season to see how well you respond to rapid change. Injury reports, league disciplinary actions against your players and the loss of a key coaching member are all things you will have to deal with throughout the season.
So, does that make you want to join? If so, here's what you do:
www.iiflfootball.com/html/join_us.html
Join the League and OWN YOUR OWN TEAM!
To get started, you will need to choose a city, a team name, and a logo. (It might help to build a freewebs website, like the previous league one)
Anyway, let's get to business.
*The Internet Indoor Football League is not an actual football league. This is an online management-style game for those interested in learning what it’s like to be a team owner of an indoor football team. We test your skills and business savvy by seeing what you’re capable of in the head office. There are no fees to participate, we just need you to hold up your end of the bargain and participate all season long.
OWNERSHIP:
1. No franchise fee neccesary
2. Must apply by October 1, 2007, in order to be considered for 2008 season. (check)
3. Franchises are voted upon by the existing owners. At least 50% of the votes are needed for approval.
4. Must have website up by November 15, 2007, otherwise team is suspended until 2009 season.
5. Schedule is announced on November 30, 2007.
6. Must have all staff in place by January 1, 2008.
7. Limit 30 players per roster.
8. Rosters must be in place by Week 1, otherwise the team forfeits each game until a roster is set.
To join, email us directly with your desire to become an owner!
If you want to join, e-mail us at join@iiflfootball.com, and we will get to you right away!
Our current lineup is:
Columbia (South Carolina) Growlers
Erie (Pennsylvania) Argonauts
Fairbanks (Alaska) Ice
Frederick (Maryland) Cavaliers
Hartford (Connecticut) Hitmen
Kenosha (Wisconsin) Barons
Midway (Ohio) Mafia
Opelika (Alabama) Eagles
Presque Isle (Pennsylvania) Bombers
Providence (Rhose Island) Plasticmen
Racine County (Wisconsin) Rhino Raiders
There is plenty of room for expansion, so come on and join!
(I hope this isn't spam)
Once again, the website is www.iiflfootball.com, and the ownership application e-mail is join@iiflfootball.com!
