I'm sure if Pittsburgh is about to get an Arena Football League team in the near future they'd be interested in getting the turf.

For the most part, the AFL will require brand new turf for a brand new team. The AF2 is a little bit more lenient. Now that there's so many good used rugs out there, it's hard to force teams to buy new turf at full price.

The riverhawks just bought new turf last season and it's field turf not that crappy astro turf. The turf is almost the same as the turf that colleges use however there is no infill (silicone sand and rubber chips) mixed in with the turf. It's real nice turf. Still hurts when you land but won't give you as bad brush burn as astro turf would.

I bet that would be fun after the game to vacuum up.

Make no payments for 3 months!!! Even includes padding for the boards! Wonder if anyone has mailed this auction to the Freeze yet. Their turf has got to be one of the worst in this or any other league, and their padding for the boards pretty much just lean up against the wall and sometimes has gaps where the pads are supposed to meet.

Field Turf is the infilled stuff, and is not portable.

that's what I said before it DOESN"T have the infill of silicone sand and rubber chips. The "longer" blades are the same thing as field field minus the stuff beneath the turf.

Their turf has got to be one of the worst in this or any other league, and their padding for the boards pretty much just lean up against the wall and sometimes has gaps where the pads are supposed to meet. I have to admit part of the reason I posted this was I kind of hoped it would "get noticed by someone that could get the Civic Center Authority or a potential sponsor (For example getting maybe getting someone like Pepsi to purchase it and painting the Pepsi name and logo in the end zones)to buy it and could put it to good use". As far as the boards are concerned though, the reason their not "in place" correctly is that ice was still under the turf and the velcro strips can't reach the tops of the dasher boards with 4" of ice underneath it. So until the ice came off after the Express game, they had to be tied to the boards. This shouldn't be a problem next Sat. VS. the Heroes. But the turf, now that's another story........

I'm not gonna continue to argue the semantics with you, but it's not the same thing, not even remotely close other than in appearance.

Everyone missed the most interesting part of the ebay auction. The turf was used by a team in the NIFL. Isnt the NIFL in the middle of their largest expansion plans ever, going to 64 teams this year? I would think one of the other 40+ new team owners would be buying this rather then auctioning it off..
