Conference Championship Day Packed with Fast Action, Entertainment for Fans

BALTIMORE, MD (July 8, 2010) – When the undefeated Baltimore Mariners (14-0) host the Harrisburg Stampede (12-3) in the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) Eastern Conference Championship this Saturday, July 10th at 7:00 PM at 1st Mariner Arena, not only will fans be treated to fast, furious, and fun football action, but also a day full of festivities.

“I am very thrilled to make our already stellar game day experience more interactive and festive for our loyal fans and new fans alike. Fans will have events available before and after the game all within walking distance of the 1st Mariner Arena,” said Mariners General Manager Greg Justice.

To mark the first football conference championship game hosted in Baltimore since the 1970 NFL season when the Baltimore Colts hosted the Oakland Raiders at Memorial Stadium, fans can kick-off their celebration at the Official Pre-Game Party at The Nest on Pratt Street, located just one block south of the Arena at 200 West Pratt Street. Fans will be treated to an outdoor concert by “Dirt” as well as $2 domestic drafts, $3 Smirnoff cocktails, and $1 PBR cans.

Once fans enter 1st Mariner Arena, the first 500 in attendance will be provided with Baltimore Mariners 2010 AIFA East Conference Regular Season Champion team photos courtesy of NattyBohGear.com.

Fans can also enjoy special giveaways and promotions in the main concourse from several local attractions, media, and sports teams including Crystal Palace Baltimore – Baltimore’s Professional Soccer Club (including team t-shirts and Palace scarves for a few lucky fans), Maryland Greenhawks Basketball – The First Green Professional Sports Team, Six Flags America, BaltimoreSportsReport.com, “Where the Ball is Always in Your Court,” and CityPeek.com, the region's top guide for the Mid-Atlantic region.

Fans will also be treated to pre-game and halftime performances by the Baltimore Mariners Cheerleaders and halftime will feature an on field car show presented by the Corvette Club of America; the oldest Corvette Club in the world.

Tickets for this historic game are only $10 for all 100 and 200 level seats and only $27 for the first two rows (fees included) , if purchased through the 1st Mariner Arena Box Office. Tickets are also available through all Ticketmaster outlets and Ticketmaster.com (additional fees apply). Tickets to the Apple Ford TD Zone are available for purchase on game day for an additional $10.

I didn't realize this was the first conference championship in Baltimore since 1970 when the Colts hosted the Raiders. I must have missed that the 13 previous times you mentioned it in your articles.

Very disappointed you didn't list that Cipra was leading the league in kicking in this article. I thought that was automatic filler for a Mariner article. You also left out the obligatory "Isaiah Grier is the best running back in the AIFA" and "EJ Nemeth is the best QB in the AIFA" And while we're at it, no mention of the Swashbuckler Defense?

See they caught on even used the plug. Actually has been a good media week. The Sun did a two page article on Fearon Wright:

Well, yeah, but that's only because the CFL called them divisions in 1995.

The CFL was fun while it lasted. Weird Baltimore won they Grey Cup and they get rid of Every American Team, Whats up with That. LOL
