Baltimore Announces Playoff Dates and Ticket Prices, Adjust Roster
BALTIMORE, MD (June 10, 2010) – The Baltimore Mariners have begun their preparations for their championship run by announcing playoff dates and ticket information and also making some roster moves to fortify the team for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.
By clinching the American Indoor Football Association’s (AIFA) Eastern Conference regular season championship, the Mariners have secured a first round bye and will host the Eastern Conference Championship game on Saturday, July 10th at 7:00 PM at 1st Mariner Arena.
If the Mariners win the Eastern Conference Championship they will also earn the right to host AIFA Bowl IV in Baltimore. Baltimore has scheduled the AIFA’s title game for Sunday, July 25th at 4:00 PM at 1st Mariner Arena if the team’s ultimate goal becomes a reality.
Baltimore announced playoff ticket availability and pricing. Seats in the first two rows of the arena will be $25 plus a $2 facility fee. All other 100 and 200-level tickets will be only $10 including the facility fee. Tickets are already on sale for the Eastern Conference Championship game. Season ticket holders will receive purchasing information by June 21st, by mail, and their seats will be held for a specified time (outlined in the mailer). Tickets are available through the 1st Mariner Arena Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets, and www.ticketmaster.com. Note: If using Ticketmaster, additional fees apply. Prices above reflect box office purchase only. The Apple Ford TD Zone passes will be sold at each individual game at the zone for $10.
The Mariners also made some roster moves to fortify the team for the remaining three regular season games and also the playoffs. With AIFA rosters frozen on June 8th the Mariners needed to make several moves to guarantee adequate depth and also to fill voids by several players who are now with Arena Football League (AFL) or Canadian Football League (CFL) teams.
The Mariners added to the defensive depth by signing DB/WR David Smith (6’1”, 214, North Carolina State), a two-year starter for the defending AIFA champions, the Reading Express, and DL/LB Andre Campbell (6’, 245, Elon).
Two local products were signed to bolster the offense and special teams in case of injury. Quarterback Grant Burrough (6’4”, 230, Frostburg State) and kicker Chris Roberts (6’1”, 200, Maryland) who played for Maryland high schools, C. Milton Wright and John Carroll, respectively, were added to the 30-man roster.
Roster moves were necessitated with the move of defensive back Andre’ Letren and wide receiver Mike Williams from the 30-man roster to the injured reserve list. Also, three players, Mike Lucian (Jacksonville Sharks, AFL), Mike Potts (Tulsa Talons, AFL), and Scott Burley (Montreal Alouettes, CFL) remained on the Exempt List rather than being moved to the final 30-man roster.
