As a Stampede fan I've got to say that I saw this coming. I didn't think the score would be quite this lopsided, but Baltimore has been just crushing teams, while the Stampede has had two unimpressive wins against the Guard and Revolution in the last couple of weeks. The second playoff seed should be their focus now. They better have it together next week when a hot Erie team comes to town.

Yeah only way Baltimore loses the conference crown is if Erie takes em out both times, but even then I doubt it

Here is the full recap.
BALTIMORE, MD (May 2, 2010) –The Baltimore Mariners (8-0) continued their undefeated streak by harnessing the Harrisburg Stampede 50-17. Leading the way for the Mariners was quarterback E.J. Nemeth who ran for three scores and also tossed three touchdown passes. Defensive back Desmond Maul sparked the Baltimore defense with three interceptions.
The Mariners quickly set the tone for the night when the Baltimore defense had a stop on Harrisburg’s first possession and on the Mariners’ first offensive play of the game Nemeth hit wide receiver Aaron Yarbough on a 39-yard strike which took the ball to the Stampede one. On the next play Nemeth lunged in from the one to stake Baltimore to a 7-0 lead at the 11:15 mark of the first quarter.
On Harrisburg’s next drive Maul reeled in his first interception of the night to give Baltimore the ball at its five. This time Nemeth assembled a six-play drive ending with a touchdown pass to Scorpio Brown providing Baltimore with a 14-0 lead.
The Stampede then scored quickly with a two-play drive culminating in a Kelvin Robinson to Eugene Goodman 30-yard score. Following his touchdown Goodman was flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty which gave the Mariners the ball on the Harrisburg 24 after the ensuing kickoff with just over a minute left in the quarter.
The first quarter ended with Baltimore leading 14-7, but Nemeth compiled a quick drive on the short field provided by Goodman’s ill-timed penalty as the Mariners QB hit Brown for another touchdown, a 22-yarder to give Baltimore a 20-7 lead. Following J.R. Cipra’s extra point and uno on the kickoff, Baltimore increased their lead to 22-7 early in the second quarter.
With Cipra’s kick pinning the Stampede back on their five, the Mariners brought pressure and Melik Brown grabbed a Goodman fumble on the Harrisburg one. Following an unsportsmanlike penalty on the Mariners, Baltimore took over at the Stampede 11, but two players later Isaiah Grier rushed in from the one for his league leading 17th rushing touchdown of the season and following another Cipra extra point/uno combination the Baltimore margin increased to 30-7.
After starting at their six, Harrisburg assembled a six-play, 16 yard drive, but was foiled again when kicker Derrick Scott missed a 44-yard field goal attempt. Baltimore took possession at their ten. After a rare sack on Nemeth, he hit Jamaal Stokes on a 40-yard scoring pass to boost Baltimore’s lead to 37-7.
With 1:45 left in the second quarter, Harrisburg registered their last touchdown of the night as Robinson found Keith Stokes on a 26-yard score and the teams headed to the half with Baltimore leading 37-14. Baltimore wasted no time on its first possession of the second half as Nemeth orchestrated a six-play, 39-yard drive culminating in his second 1-yard rushing touchdown of the night and the Stampede trailed 43-7.
Both teams held each other scoreless in the remainder of the third quarter and with 11:28 remaining in the fourth Scott booted a 48-yard field goal to give Harrisburg their final points of the night.
Nemeth closed out the scoring in this crucial East Conference contest with his third one-yard scoring rush of the night with two minutes left in the game to give Baltimore the final 50-17 margin and their eighth straight win to start the 2010 season.
Nemeth totaled 13 of 22 passing for 245 yards with one interception and three scoring strikes, including two to Scorpio Brown. Jamaal Stokes also hauled in a Nemeth pass for a score and totaled 82 receiving yards on four catches. Yarbough led all Mariner receivers with six receptions for 114 yards. Running back Isaiah Grier topped the Mariners with 44 yards rushing on 15 carries and crossed the goal line for a score.
Defensively the Mariners increased their American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) best takeaway total to 33 with the three interceptions by Maul and Brown’s fumble recovery. The team also increased its league-leading sack total to 28 with four sacks as Brian Bradford, Brown, and Adam Goloboski all recorded sacks and Daniel Orlebar and Fearon Wright combined on a takedown.
The Mariners now hold a 2 ½ game lead over Harrisburg (5-2) with six games remaining on the 2010 regular season schedule. Baltimore also holds a four game lead over the fourth place Reading Express (4-4). The top three teams in the Eastern Conference qualify AIFA playoffs.
Baltimore now has a bye next week before playing May 13th at the Fayetteville Guard (2-4); a team they have already defeated 58-0 and 91-19 this season. Following a game against the Richmond Raiders on May 29th the Mariners return home for a game June 5th against the Erie Storm at 7:00 PM at 1st Mariner Arena.

Thanks for the recap. Looks like Archie Smith didn't play again which means the Stampede were missing two of their three starting dbs. Of course that doesn't explain the offensive woes.Sounds like Baltimore controlled the line of scrimmage.
