From the benches, black with people, there went up a muffled roar, like the beating of the storm waves on a stern and distant shore.
"Kill him! Kill the umpire!" shouted someone on the stand, and it's likely they'd have killed him had not Casey raised his hand.
I used to do school assemblies while reading Casey and one principal actually wanted me to edit the poem so the kids didn't have to boo.

It's not ok to call out an individual kid based on his SAT scores....But if you're the atheletic doormat of a region, that also happens to have the highest SAT scores in said region...Well, it's nice to have something to fire back with But yea....that whole no "boo-ing" thing.....That's just plain and simple communism... What i was trying to get at is if you have to use a students SAT score as a hack then you shouldn't be talking smack. weak. The players themselves should toughen up and ignore it. Oh we're on the same page fridge....

One more little thing to add here...."Channel 1" a news show shown in high schools and middle schools all over the country did a piece on the boo ban this morning. After the show ended, I asked my kids what they thought about it.You may have guessed it .
They boo'd.

Booing isn't the problem. The vile chants and tirades by out of control parents is the problem that has to be dealt with severely.
