Veteran Kicker Has Record Setting Performance, Scores 15 in 91-19 Victory. BALTIMORE, MD (April 30, 2010) – Baltimore Mariners’ kicker J.R. Cipra was named the Vidswap.com American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) Special Teams Player of the Week for his record breaking performance in the Mariners’ 91-19 win over the Fayetteville Guard. Cipra set a league record by booting six unos. A uno is scored when the kicker splits the 10-foot wide uprights, a 60-yard kick, on a kickoff. Cipra also held the previous record of five. Cipra currently leads the AIFA in field goals (10), extra points (41) and kicking points (96). He has scored 11 points or more in six of the Mariners seven games, including 15 against Fayetteville this past weekend. The 7-0 Mariners now host the Harrisburg Stampede (5-1) this Sunday, May 2nd at 4:00 PM in a crucial East Conference battle at 1st Mariner Arena. With a win the Mariners can extend their lead to 2.5 games with six left on the 2010 schedule. A win by Harrisburg will leave the teams essentially tied and provide a split of the season series between the two teams. Baltimore defeated Harrisburg 55-48 in week one of the 2010 season.
