I was just listened to "The Herd" with Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio and they mentioned the death of Javon Camon.

Could you go into a little more detail? Did they mention the AIFA by name, or just Camon's death? (He was playing in the WIFL at the time of the tragedy, so it seems odd they would mention the AIFA). It would be nice to know in what context they were talking. Were they criticizing indoor football leagues' safety, or what?

They were talking about Ultimate Fighting (since there was a fight this weekend). Listeners were complaing about how dangerous the UFC is. So they started stating that boxing was more dangerous and football was more dangerous. They said that an "arena football" player had just died. Then they clarified that is wasn't the actual AFL and it was a "smaller league". That was as specific as it got. They never mentioned the league, team, or player by name. I don't even think they mentioned what city or state it happened in. Anyone else listening, probably wouldn't have a clue what they were talking about. But if the UFC discussion comes up again on the program, they might go in to more detail.

So the AIFA wasn't mentioned then... Tragic loss... to compare which sport is more or less dangerous seems pointless to me. Any of us could get killed crossing the street tomorrow, but the talk shows won't bother to mention it, or discuss whether or not we should have crossed at the corner or waited for the light...

You have a better chance dieing in the octagon than on the turf. UFC is just a glorified street fight. Hence I have no interest in it.

maybe this is me but it seems like indoor football would be safer than regular football. Yes there is a wall and all but the backers have less room in some cases to get full speed for like a flying hit
