Just wondering how many of you were AFL fans before you were a fan of an indoor league?
I was never a fan of the AFL until we got the Freeze. Now I enjoy watching the AFL too. I'm a Philly Soul fan!
I think the AFL (espcially since it's going primetime on ESPN this year) can really help bring fans to indoor football.

How do you keep up with your favorite team since there are so few games broadcast on TV?

Souls suck. Go Columbus. I started watching AFL on NBC a while back (I think when they first started airing it) but the problem was I'm always working during the games. I may DVR 24 on TV and watch AFL on ESPN on another TV since I don't work Mondays. I don't follow it has much now because we have the Freeze but I still watch it and cheer on Columbus.

The Destroyers should change their name to the Destroyees, in my opinion. Slocoma knows what's up, go PHILLY SOUL!!!!!!

I've been watched the AFL since about 93, and really became a fan in 97. I can't really say I was a diehard until near the end of the 2000 season. My team is the Grand Rapids Rampage and try to make it up at least once a season for a home game. Last year, I also went to their road game in Columbus (two years ago I went to the one in Philly as well). I'm a fan of the Soul as well because originally a lot of the Rampage players went there to follow Trigg when the team was formed.

Sucks for ABC that with all the close games yesterday they end up airing a dud for the first game of the season. 60-7, ouch.

I'm (sadly) old enough to have gone to all of the home games for the now defunct Pittsburgh Gladiators (1987-1990). It's great to see the games getting some decent exposure now with ESPN. I don't really have a favorite team, maybe the Avengers, but that's not based on anything on the field. I'm not a big Soul fan though -- maybe it's the Jon Bon Jovi connection.
