were throwing around some ideas and wanted everyones opinions. We were kinda thinking about getting rid of the Top 5 Posters on the main page and putting a Members of the Month thing there. Everyone could vote for a MOTM too. What do you guys think of that idea and what other suggestions might you have?

Maybe it's me, but I think a MOTM poll would just be a big trainwreck of favoritism and general every month. If you're tired of the top 5, just take it off the top -- nobody's ever going to catch up to Joe because of all of official announcements he posts anyway. If people want to see who the top posters are, they can always get that by clicking on the MEMBERS button at the top of the board and re-sorting it by number of posts. |

yeah, those posting official releases and news articles will always get high marks. To me, all it does is glorify post-whoring.

MOTM has nothing to do with who posts the most. Could be based on a few things such as helping out on the board, contributions,referrals & ideas on how to improve things. It would be additional work and its still just an idea now....
As far as the Top 5 posters goes, yes, anyone can view that in the members list. We are working on things now to replace that Top 5 list on the main page. However, in being respectful of the other members here, i wanted to ask before any changes were made......

I like the idea but instead of having all the members vote maybe the mods gets together and have a vote amongst themselves that would prevent favoritism.
