Ultimate Indoor Football League Officially Launched
(April 13, 2010; Canton, OH) The culmination of over eight months of preparation and statistical research reached fruition today with the announcement of the formation of North America’s most progressive minor sports league, the Ultimate Indoor Football League.
The Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) is the brainchild of the partnership of league co-founders Michael Taylor and Andrew Haines. Since mid-2009, Taylor and Haines worked to develop a business model that will be both entertaining and profitable. The driving force behind this particular business model is the delight of traditional and potential football fans that will be enhanced by the structure of the UIFL.
The mission of the UIFL is a simple, straightforward goal to develop markets to succeed in the sports industry while bringing in top regional talent to develop and promote players to the “next level” of their careers.
Taylor will act as Director of General Operations and Haines will act as the Director of Marketing. Taylor and Haines assured, “A league is only as strong as its weakest team, so we are taking the approach that all teams will be given the same “ingredients and tools” as every team in the league. From the front office to the game day clean up crews, we are serious in our endeavor and can not afford to make a mistake in the development of this league.”
Within the next 48 hours, the UIFL will announce the league’s choice for its inaugural Commissioner. After interviewing a cadre of established “football” people, the UIFL is very serious and selective in choosing a person who will act as the league’s “backbone and heartbeat.”
The UIFL will be a progressive Indoor Football League with the focus on the fan’s experience. This new professional football league will exhibit both traditional and non-traditional components that will build fan loyalty in and out of local arenas.
Some highlights of the league composition are the league offices to be located in Canton, Ohio. The league plans to announce up to five teams ready for the 2011 season by Mid-May with 6 to 10 teams forecasted for stewardship by the 2011 kickoff.
The UIFL will situate itself in arenas of 3,000 or more patrons so as to facilitate owner success. Regional play will build natural rivalries and cut costs that will include a salary cap structure that will give teams with their 18-man rosters tactical and financial flexibility.
The UIFL will institute an 8 v 8 gridiron battle on a 50-yard surface employing two men legally in motion for offensive minded, non-stop action. The UIFL kickoff is slated for a February/March 2011 debut.
Michael Taylor is considered one of the most respected individuals in the sports world. Taylor, a graduate of the United States Sports Academy is considered one to the most successful sports administrators in recent years. Michael has been part of an ownership group who have successfully owned and operated four different arena/indoor franchises in three different leagues in the last eight years. His 2005 Richmond Bandits were crowned the AIFL champions in the inaugural season.
Michael has playing and coaching experience at the college level but his experience does not just stop in football; he is also the President and CEO of The Tour Program Golf School, known for over 20 years as the world’s most demanding golf school located at World Woods Golf Club a Tom Fazio design in Florida, rated the number 1 practice facility in the U.S. and Remyden Builders also located in Florida.
Andrew Haines, is a very unique individual, after graduating from High School he entered corporate America. At 19 years old Andrew started his first business and since then has started and then sold over three dozen businesses and helped to create over 700 jobs. These jobs have had a multi-million dollar impact in the communities where those businesses were created. Andrew now helps other people realize their dreams of becoming business owners, by consulting with start-up businesses. In addition to start-up businesses, Andrew also does work for professional sports teams, leagues, and political organizations. Andrew is the CEO of Conquest Creative and currently serves as Treasurer and Board Member for "Hammer and Nails" non-profit company.
Andrew has operated minor league sports teams in Basketball, Arena Football, and Hockey for the past 10 years. In addition to team ownership, Andrew also has a minority interest in an arena racing series. His experience is at all level and sports.
Andrew has been married to his wife Leah for the past twelve years and the couple has two children: A.J. and Natira. Andrew and Leah are both involved in their local community having volunteered with several non-profit organizations.
Sean P. Ruffin, UIFL Attorney a native of Canton, Ohio and the head of the Ruffin Legal Group in downtown Canton. Sean will act as lead counsel for the UIFL. A graduate of Ohio State University College of Law as well as Miami University in Oxford, OH with a degree in Political Science. Sean has been an active member of the American Bar Association since 1997 .
Sean is a very active member of a variety community organizations and is an outstanding asset to the UIFL and the leagues legal team.
