Soccer in the US has about a snowballs chance in hell regardless of this guy.

It amazes me how popular it is in US high schools yet there is a big dropoff after that. I dont see this sport ever overtaking any of our major ones now. It'll always be a straggler here in the US.

The deal is actually $5-years, $50 million. The rest is non-guaranteed income from such things as team value, merchandise, other advertising which he'd get a cut of, etc.
I don't understand why some people are so defensive about soccer. Sure, you might not like it, but showing signs of feeling 'threatened' by it just make my laugh.

Never felt threatened by soccer, on occasion i'll watch the soccer channel that has all the U.K. games. But Soccer has been trying to get into the mainstream for over 30 years and it's still not going to happen.
