What the heck? First the signal on 1330 went to crap. Then this morning it's oldies and not ESPN radio. Are they changing formats? I haven't heard anything.

Yea, something went down on Friday. Froggy switched to BOB which now plays EVERYTHING according to an article in the Times on Saturday. They said it would play U2 then a country song, then Whitney Houston, then The Cars and so on. Basically it's an open format. Also mentioned on the weekend news was something about 1330s and 1400s programming switching places so you might want to check out those two to see if you can find what you're looking for.

I forgot about 1440 (I believe) being their "sister station". I'll check that on the way home.

Froggy was to move to 1330 (makes no sense), the Fan to 1400. It seems to be taking them awhile to do the switch.

If you're looking for NFL games, 1450 The Penn State Behrend Station broadcasts NFL games using the Westwood One feed, including Monday Night games. The Times puts their schedule out regularly and on game day. I kept up with my fantasy team players all season with this. National Announcers and 1st rate broadcasts!

No, I wasn't really looking for actual game broadcasts (but thanks for that info), just NFL banter to pass the time on my hour drive to work.

Radio station changes are never announced in advance. When I got out of work Friday night, I turned to froggy to see if they brought tom kent back only to hear an ad for BOB 94.7. I thought it was a joke ripping on the "Bob" from one of those male enhanced ads.

What's going to happen to Otters broadcasts?
1330 and 1400 also do Gannon games (basketball, football).

Also, sportsradio1330.com is gone. They pointed it to 0.0.0.0. But their mail is still up.

I found this on jrlsports.com (forgot to look there until today). It's Jim LeCorchick's site (he does the Gannon coaches shows). Apparently he doesn't know what's going on either and he works there.
From 1/8
"THE DEMISE of radio station 1330 the Fan (WFNN) is a sad day for local sports fans. There are an amazing amount of rumors regarding this move and the future of the station. I will try and get some legit info and comment much more later.
1330 The Fan and 1400 WJET carried such entities as Cathedral Prep football, high school playoffs in football and basketball, Browns, Steelers, Gannon football and basketball, Seawolves, Otters, Pitt football and much, much more.
What will be left out?
I'll try and find out for you. The one thing for sure is Froggy Oldies will now be on 1330 am. It's 7:08 a.m. and there are oldies playing on 1330."
