Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski announced today that he has signed former Hardin-Simmons University, offensive linemen Glenn Revell.
At 6’1” and 295, Glenn Revell will be coming from Abilene, Texas to continue his football career with the Express. Glenn was a 4 year letterman and a 2 year starter with H-S University. In 2008 Glenn was selected as team captain and helped lead his offense to a number #4 national ranking averaging 479 yards per game.
Glenn was a 1st team All-ASC selection in 2008 as well as being an Academic All-ASC player in 2006, 2007 and 2008. He was also named American Southwest Conference Player of the Week for 10.18.08. Glenn played last year in the IFL for the Abilene Ruff Riders. We look to place Glenn at the center position, but he can also play guard and has long snapping capabilities.
Glenn is the son of Ron and Sue Revell and has 2 brothers and a sister. He works as a Recreation Intern/Assistant Camp Director at the 1st Baptist Church of Abilene, organizing youth sports leagues and summer camps. He also was a grad assistant for Hardin-Simmons University in 2009 as an offensive line coach. Glenn is a real nice pick-up for us. He is a natural center and can play several other positions. “He has the skill set we look for here in Reading” according to line coach Kenny Miller, “he has good hand speed and solid foot work.” Again, he is the type of kid we look for here in Reading. Glenn is a hard working solid player on the field. His academics in College speak highly for his commitment and dedication to an education. As well Glenn has a strong belief in family values and community.” remarked Nowotarski.
