Express Re-Sign Rockhold
Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski announced today that he has re-signed Four Year Express kicker and Appalachian State Grad Erik Rockhold.
Erik has been with the Express from the beginning and holds every kicking record in the franchises history as well being the franchises leading scorer. Rock in his first season, 2006 was the League’s Special Teams Player of the Year.
Erik is a 5’9” 190lb kicker and has been given the nickname here in Reading as “The Rouge”, stemming from his accuracy on kick-offs going through the opposite end field goal post, which in the AIFA is good for one point.
“Erik is coming off one of his best seasons kicking for the Express. Erik led the league in Extra Point percentage with a 91%. He was second in the league with “Uno” kicks and he also hit some clutch Field Goals during the season. His National Championship game was Outstanding, with 4 Uno’s, a made field goal and all his extra points, he kept Wyoming pinned in their end of the field all night long and was a major offensive weapon for us. In our Coaching Staffs opinion, Rock had an MVP season and if Rob Flowers didn’t have the season he did, I think Erik would have had a shot. He is also the only original Express player that has played in every game that the Express has ever played (70)…..He is a Household word around here, you mention the Express and Kicking, you are talkin about “The Rock” commented Nowotarski.
Erik currently resides in Reading and works full time at Berks Fire Water Restorations as an electrician.
Coming Soon, the NEW Express website….check it out for event and ticket as well as our Up-Coming Open Try-Outs…..you can find it all at www.expressindoorfootball.com
