Conceding that QB Brett Favre was bound for the Minnesota Vikings, the Augusta Colts Pro Indoor Football team took a gamble that lightning might strike twice from the same university; signing their own Southern Mississippi QB, Todd Wilson, of Pensacola, FL. The 6’3, 205 lb native of Mobile, AL. (a graduate of St. Paul’s Episcopal H.S.) has a rocket arm with relatively low mileage; having seen limited duty, under the Center, after transferring into the program, from the University of West Alabama. Even so, Wilson saw enough playing time to list playing SEC teams Tennessee & Auburn as career highlights; to make the 08 Madden video game and to place himself on the Elite Combine’s Top 10 2009 QB prospect list. Wilson will be expected to provide an alternative look to the playing style of Lamar Little; while pushing current Colt’s QBs (Marcus James, Steve Newman & Brandon Satcher) for a final roster spot in 2010.
