Well, the pain is over. Wildcats end up with a league worst 1-13 record, losing 13 in a row. Rather funny but the league website is scrolling the wrong score for the last game on its "AIFA Scoreboard - Week 18". It says Utah Valley 58, New Mexico 21. While that WAS the final score shown on the arena's scoreboard, they missed adding in the final PAT by Utah for some reason. Final score was actually 59-21, though I see the guys who do the stats & standings have it right.
Also at the final game, fans got the one and only giveaway of the season, a team photo. Boy that is just what I wanted, something to remember this miserable season by. At least they had the video guy working for the last game. But, attendance was horrible, worst of the season. Of course, they have never announced or published attendance figures but, by eyeball, it was maybe 8-900 at best.
I see no reason why this team will be back for a 3rd season, I'm not sure how they made it for this one. There was NO effort to promote the team that I saw. When we will get notice of its "official" demise?

Sorry guy it sounds like a horrible experience from start to finish, I also feel kinda bad for the folks that showed up to watch because in that group were some hard-core fans that are going to feel cheated, it sounds like this division was an after thought.

not the division my friend. just the team. Thunder and the Cavs are for real and will uphold the division. I'm praying a couple of other teams from different leagues out here might want in. thats just a prayer though haha

Utah and Wyoming are better off dropping the AIFA not worrying about looking for other teams to join. You probably would have a better shot at joining IFL as there are atleast teams in Texas, Colorado, and Montana. Either way having teams like New Mexico where they barely have tape for their players honestly (which is not your fault) makes your team and the league look like a joke. Sorry for those hardcore Wildcat fans, you did atleast have the best looking logo.

Utah and Wyoming are better off dropping the AIFA... I have wondered what was the point of the West Division. Last season I sort of accepted having to play the same 3 teams as the division seemed to have been added after the schedule for the rest of the league was already set. I had the impression though that this season we would be playing some teams from the other divisions. Guess not. Travel expenses too much? What was the point of setting up a division 1,000+ miles from the rest of the league? Couldn't find enough suckers closer to buy into the league?

Travel expenses are enormous in your division let alone traveling to other ones. IMO, they really need to add more teams out there next season. I just dont get the 4 team division either. Its almost like its a seperate league out there.

You probably would have a better shot at joining IFL as there are atleast teams in Texas, Colorado, and Montana. And Alaska...and knowing the IFL, that's where those two would get sent, since the "other teams" wouldn't want to make that trip. There's a reason the Cavalry stay in the AIFA despite all the questions surrounding that. Attendance won't rise enough to offset a doubling in expenses by joining the IFL.

Unfortunally even the "good" teams in this league don't draw enough at home to make these long road games worthwhile

nmscorpions. ur a peace of well...since your such te fan and care help the cause. otherwise dont speak. I guess I'm just not a "true" fan like you. I supported the team in the way I knew best -- buying season tickets and going to every game to cheer the team on. I wasn't aware that the team needed or wanted volunteers. There was never a mention of that on the team's website nor at the games. Or, were you just being facetious? It's hard to tell from your very poorly written message. As for giving the team respect, that is something that is earned, not automatically granted. I respected most of the players, despite the poor season, because I saw them play their hearts out in difficult circumstances. Any respect I might have had for the owners (whoever they might be) declined steadily (along with attendance) as the season progressed. They seemed to have little interest in promoting or properly supporting the team, I wonder if they are just using it as a tax write-off. Heck, I was at one game where I saw players having to share a helmet and wasn't it you that said the coach was having to buy tape for the guys? If you don't want to read what I have to say, you are welcome to ignore my posts but, I believe it is the right of every fan to speak their mind, especially when they see problems with their team. I hope I am wrong about the Wildcats not coming back for a 3rd season but, unless there are some major changes, I don't know why they would. If they do come back, I hope it is with new ownership that knows how to run a team like this.

I guess it will not come as a surprise to most that while the Wildcat's website is still on line (although not updated for months) all of their e-mail addresses are being kicked back.

Nope, no surprise. Of course, even when emails went through before, you never got an answer. I think I prefer knowing that the email never went through over being ignored.
