Not my typical game summary, this is the only game write up from Saturday I could find. Still no stats from the game…………

Turnovers and dropped passes doomed D.C. on Saturday, as the Armor fell to the Fayetteville Guard 58-19. The loss dropped the Armor to 1-3 on the season, while the Guard improved to 3-1.
After the Guard jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead, the Armor committed their first turnover of the night, as Fayetteville’s Marcus Hicks intercepted Moe Hill with 9:50 remaining in the first quarter. Just over two minutes later, the Guard ran in the ball for the team’s second touchdown. Jason Cherry added the extra point to extend the lead to 14-0.
The Guard again gained possession, but this time the Armor fought back. On fourth down, D.C. forced a fumble, recovering the ball in Fayetteville territory. Just after the start of the second quarter, the Armor gave the ball to fullback James Gibson, who pounded his way into the end zone. The four-yard touchdown run gave D.C. their first points of the game.
After Fayetteville’s Shawn Withy-Allen’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Jay Jackson, the Armor offense went back to work. Penalties backed the Armor back up to their own goal line, but on third and 32, Fayetteville committed illegal defense, granting the Armor a final chance in the final minute of the first half. But in what would be the story of the game, the Armor let a golden opportunity slip through their fingers.
Moe Hill attempted a mid-range pass, but the ball sailed high. The ball deflected off the hands of a Fayetteville defender, fluttering right into the lap of D.C.’s Ahamd Hawkins. Hawkins was already standing in the end zone, and the touchdown would ensure the Armor would head into the locker room down by only a score.
But Hawkins could not hang on, beginning a terrible stretch of play for the Armor that would put the game out of reach. On the following down, the Armor turned the ball over on downs. Fayetteville scored on their first play, a 44-yard touchdown pass off a halfback screen. The Guard’s extra point hit the crossbar, but they immediately recouped the points with an uno. With six seconds to play in the half, Moe Hill was sacked in the end zone, giving the Guard a safety, and a halftime lead of 30-6. In the span on 48 seconds, the Armor had gone from pulling within a touchdown to surrendering 10 points. It was effectively a 16-point swing.
Any notion of a second half comeback was immediately put to rest. Moe Hill’s first pass was intercepted and ran back for a touchdown. The extra point stretched the lead to 37-6, and the Guard never looked back.
Notes
Armor WR Darnell McDonald suffered an injury in pregame warm-ups, hurting his leg while making a cut on an out pattern, but he would return to play in the second half…Armor LB Mike Woodhouse recorded two sacks, giving him 6.5 on the season. The total leads the AIFA…
Notes:
Looks like the Armor have made a switch at quarterback to Moe Hill from Bowie State. I can understand why they would make a switch from Mike Scipione but I don’t think Hill is the answer. There is a lot of offensive ability on this team and the one thing they might be lacking is a quarterback. Although, I still don’t have faith in this coaching staff.
