This is the Armor’s pre-game write up for there contest against Fayetteville. That’s right, this travesty of an “article” was actually published and put on the Armor’s web-site. Although, I should be glad the team actually updated the website at all.
WASHINGTON, DC (April 8, 2009) – Still burning from a loss to the Express last Saturday, the DC ARMOR (1-2) of the American Indoor Football Association are gearing up to make a stand against the Fayetteville, Guard 2-1.
The ARMOR, Guard matchup is set to be a real battle. The ARMOR is quickly becoming known for their defensive front that plays in-your-face style football designed to get after quarterbacks and to create opportunity. Ranked 2nd in Total Defense, the ARMOR makes it a point to make offenses uncomfortable. However, the Guard’s offense is no slouch being that they are ranked 4th in Total Offense averaging 232.3 yards per game. Put simply, the above says that there will be plenty of action and fans will enjoy.
On the offensive side of the ball, Head Coach James and Offensive Coordinator Wood have been working to get the glitches out in an effort to increase productivity. “This weeks changes promise to help with our productivity in the red zone.” Said Coach James – although he wouldn’t go into exactly what the changes were. I guess we’ll have to just wait and see.
“As a new team, we continue work out kinks. Our goal is to continue to make our talent work as a team. We’ve done it on the defensive side of the ball. Things take a little longer on the offensive side of the ball”, says Head Coach Daniel James. “When we get there – watch out. We’ll be something special.”
After beating the Erie back in Week 3, the ARMOR looked like an expansion team heading in the right direction. That was until last weekend when they came across the Reading Express again. Reading continued their disciplined and methodical style of play to get past the ARMOR once again 19-38. “The Express is a well coached franchise that doesn’t make many mistakes. They aren’t known for style and flare - they don’t have to be.” says General Manager Corey Barnette.
The loss to the Express drops the ARMOR record versus the North division to 1-2 with Harrisburg and Baltimore still to play.
The ARMOR needs fan support on Saturday April 11th to get by the Guard. With our help they can take them down. See you at the game. Go ARMOR!!!
