if you think the "groups" for mudcat games were small now. You should have seen them if Waide didn't pay all those old debts. Alienated business owners and advertisers wouldn't have sat foot in that place if he didn't do that. I'm amazed how short sighted your mudcat fans are. Jim Waide saved football in your town and now that you have football you think it was stupid of waide to pay those bills Todd Ellis ran up. Good luck with having a team next year. I'm sure the clowns on this site will blame jim waide for that too.

It is obvious Waide didn't do any research on the level of bills there were. That's the issue.
If Chappuis and Fahlsing do the same in Fort Wayne - try to motor on while being clueless on what the team actually owes...that's also their own fault for not paying attention.

I totally agree that if Waide had not paid off the old bills, the crowds would have been worse. Jin saved football in this town. BUT he thought it would be an easier sell to advertisers and to the cash strapped families in the area. The economy is crap right now. He did not know it would be this bad. I am a big fan (worked with the team last season) and I only got to go to 3 games this year because I am broke. I know that I am not the only one.

todd ellis hide his poor money management well. Yes, Fahlsing and Chappius are at fault for stepping in but they just wanted the same thing Waide wants and that is NOT to have a folded sports team in his town. Our guys in Fort Wayne would admit that there heart got ahead of the wallet when they took over the team and get ellis out.

Absolutely. Best thing to do is to wait until you have the coin to do things right - and when contracts are worked on, the team simply would need to pay for services up front to prove things are fine.
But the new Fort Wayne guys appear to have marginally more money than the old ones.

i'll be surprised if Fort Wayne has a indoor football team next year. We've been burned to many times, plus if its someone from outside fort wayne that thing will sink faster than a lead balloon.

Not if they prove they're doing things correctly. The issue isn't the locality of the owner. The issue is that the owner's always been an idiot.
