Phantoms Finish Regular Season 10-4
CONCORD, N.C. — The Florence Phantoms finished the 2008 regular season with a resounding 55-35 victory over the Carolina Speed.The victory gives the phantoms double digit victories for the first time in franchise history.The win also locks up homefield advantage through the playoffs with a reading lost monday night to Baltimore.The Florence defense recorded five and a half sacks, four batted passes and five stops to lead the Phantoms to a 55-35 win against Carolina on Saturday.
The Phantoms rested several players saturday as they prepare for the playoffs.
Backup quarterback Aso Pogi rushed for two touchdowns, as did Jonathan Wedlock. Reggie Glover caught a TD pass as Florence built a 21-9 halftime lead and rolled from there. The Phantoms led 47-21 at the end of three quarters."we are excited about our position and what we have accomplished this season it shows our commitment to one goal a championship".
