www.djournal.com/pages/story.asp?ID=274417&pub=1&div=SportsUPDATE:MudCats game rescheduled 6/4/2008 3:37:21 PM Daily Journal The Mississippi MudCats' weekend game at the Florida Stingrays, originally scheduled for Friday night, has been reset for a Saturday night kickoff in Fort Myers, Fla. MudCats officials, who were preparing for the team to leave Tupelo on Wednesday evening for the 14-hour bus trip to Florida, were surprised by the rescheduling, which they were informed of in an e-mail. "You wouldn't think a team could make a change like that on game week," said head coach Brian Brents. "I think everybody has been able to adjust their schedules to make the trip." With a win on Saturday, the MudCats (10-1) can clinch homefield advantage for their opening-round playoff game. Appeared originally in the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, 6/4/2008, section 0 , page 0 Is this allowed? Kind of strange. I hope everything is OK in Ft. Myers.

All in good clean fun but probably need the extra time to buy padding for the ride back to their homes after you beat them to death. Apparently they seems to be no love between you two. Good luck to the both of you.

Well the only one's I hate it for are their Fans! These people probably had already planned to go see the game and some of them will probably show up Friday wondering what happened to the team! Not a good move so late in the season.
.......I hope the Stingrays do win a game and especially against the Mudcats but I just don't see this working.

I am sure they have a good reason for chaning the game day. I hope it increases their attendance. I would really like to see this franchise succeed (despite certain "fans" puting up bounties on the Mudcats). Too many Florida teams have folded. Lakeland is supposed to be back next season so the Stingrays would have a close rivalry that will really help.

Down here it has always been scheduled for Saturday. The AIFA office screwed up. Better for me so I can go to the ATM for more money to let the Stingray players earn.

I hope it's because they are folding. The 'Rays are just one more team that should dry up and blow away.

Well now Gonzo I beg to differ its a great market to play in just need somebody with a lot of marketing, hindsight and ability to bring in a group of good players. First year teams fail because they dont have alot of time to get after it in the community. It will come just need some time.

First year teams fail because they wait until January to start marketing, or they are just lazy, or they never have enough money to begin with.
The market can support a team, but this one needs to go.
