How do you become the leading kicker in the American Indoor Football Association? Well, the Mississippi MudCats’ kicker, Trey Crum, will give all of his success to God and his childhood soccer career.
Trey is a Mississippi Native; he attended Terry High School in Jackson.
He started playing soccer when he was 4 years old and started playing select soccer when he was 11 for 5 years.
When he was a Junior in High School he set a record for the most goals scored in a season.
He attended Hinds Community College for 2 years, where he was an All State Selection and went on to Delta State University to play football as a kicker and had 2 All American Seasons.
His Conference Records include most points in a game and the most field goals in a game; at Delta State he still holds the record for most points scored in a season, where he had 111 Points in 11 games!
Trey now lives in Tupelo with his wife of 2 ½ years, Rachael and attends Good News Church in Tupelo.
He was also a Youth Pastor for a year and has been very involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 4 years.
Trey has consistently been an accurate kicker for the MudCats 2008 season and has produced 10 UNO Kicks, which is when the kicker kicks through the uprights on his kickoff and the team receives 1 point.
He has completed 40 of 48 Extra Points, which is 83% and completed 7 of his 14 Field Goal Kicks, with some of his kicks being 53 yards long.
He is also the number 2 point scorer for the MudCats with 71 points in 6 games.
“He is the top kicker in the AIFA league,” said Defensive Coordinator / Assistant Head Coach Gary Patterson, “Trey has an Arena 1 leg on him and will be a success playing at the next level without any problem.”
I am glad to have such a great kicker.
