The Phantoms are proud to announce that Larry Thompson and Otheese Wells have decided to join a team that pays their players the Florence Phantoms.
Thompson and Wells both played in Lake land last year with current VP Bennie King and Head Coach T. Bowens....
"we are happy too add two experienced guys to our secondary. It's an unfortunate situation in Huntington these guys are difference makers"
Thompson lead all indoor football last year with 32 Interceptions!

the league has lost control if its just gonna let the players go wherever the heck they want to. huntington's owner may have been behind on their checks, and we don't know how far behind, but they have valid contracts to play in huntington.

To protect players........in their contract, it states if a player doesn't get paid, he is free to sign with another team. Four or five players also went to Fayettville from Huntington.

Most contracts are voided when one party fails to abide by the contract.

its a dilemma i've had the displeasure of having to deal with firsthand... i understand the camp that says the contract is voided and they can move on, but this just happened this week. you guys all 100% sure that the whole story has been told, that the league has heard from the team and the players, and has had the opportunity to make a decision one way or the other as to what really happened last week in huntington?
by not controlling the exodus of players, they are basically giving huntington's admittedly worthless cheapskate owner no chance of competing for the rest of the season. by allowing this, this has to be the signal from the league that they heroes organization is done and the league will operate a travel team with a makeshift roster from here on out.
there's no other way huntington survives as an organization if the league is going to allow all the players and coaches to walk without trying to repair the relationships.

I beleive some players may have been granted release to go elsewhere after the weekend was over, that was expected. What wasn't expected was the two players from Huntington who played for Florence that day! If it smells like crap, you probably stepped in it!

Answer to your question is yes. This has been forseen(atleast on my part) since last Monday. I also heard the leagues view this past Friday in Baltimore. I've talked to the new Huntington's owner a couple weeks ago. And I also talked to Mr. Ramey(former owner) quite a bit. The offense for Huntington should still be intact. And from my knowledge, they are willing to play. Consider it a rebuilding mode. It's a shame to see this happen(no matter what team). Most everyone in here knows my hatred toward Huntington. But, I still feel bad for those fans. What started out to be a great season, could end up being one of the worst they ever experienced.

I believe some players may have been granted release to go elsewhere after the weekend was over, that was expected. What wasn't expected was the two players from Huntington who played for Florence that day! If it smells like crap, you probably stepped in it! Here are two fine reasons not everybody can't be or handle being a FAB member. And as far as blaming the league that is total BS. The league does it best to screen the potitional owners for these teams. From my first hand experience owners can get greed or find out that they will not make profit the first year and try to cover the arses to keep from going broke. Most of the owners have more money than they do common sense. Ask any of them to see if they did their homework before buying into a team. The answer is gonna be NO 75% of the time. Just because a team has problems doesn't mean M&M have to bail the out. They are not our parents nor they are a bank for the teams.M&M have put a lot of money blood sweat and tears into this league. And if you have a problem with them call them e-mail them get to know them first hand if you will. Just don't sit back and point fingers to blame someone or something for some "oh I got plenty of money" owner who is having there arse handed to them financially because of an ego trip or any other reason. Maybe the league should start screening their fans for ignorance. This seems to be the big problem on this board from NON-FAB members who claim to be true fans but can't tell you the phone number to their teams office. The FAB members on here try to keep everyone informed on what they can when they can. Some things we can not talk about at times to not at all with different situations that arise with in the league. So with all that said do you own damn homework before you start blasting people or teams or leagues for that matter and I believe things will be at ease more on here.

The above post is the perfect example of the FAB being a dumb idea. Some fans think themselves better than others, and start judging each others level of "fandom". That's bullcrap Reaper
Now to the meat of the post.
When one of these teams goes south mid season, it IS the leagues responsibility to prop them up to at least finish the season. These teams all started the season with the understanding that they would play 14 regular season games. I'd be willing to bet that it's even in writing somewhere.
When some jackass owner gets in over his head and his team tanks during the season and games are missed, the league is left holding the bag, because the LEAGUE garanteed 14 games, not the Huntington Heros. Bottom line, they HAVE to do a better job screening potential owners, and if they fail, they have to be the ones to pick up the slack.

My question is, why quote someone and not even rebuttle the quoted text? You did not explain how players ended up on your team within hours... my sources said all players were paid for their services up to the Canton game. It is not unlike teams to cheat in this league. Joe has stated that about the Heroes, as have many of you. Well, we know that Canton suscessfully cheated for a win, got caught, and got away with it in the past (also for using illegal players). The Speed got cuaght cheating for using too many players (last year's "charity" game), but the league covered that for them. Now we obviously catch the Phantoms cheating... my guess, it will be hidden. As for Stop hrting indoor football? How about you just plain stop hurting semi-pro sports in general. I will all I want right now. Things aren't going good, and all you can say is stop hurting indoor football. Send then info onto the league. Stop being and ! I will be constantly saying until things start to look better here in Huntington. Until then AIFA = and is still the greatest!

i'm sorry, what does the fab (lol) and the self-appointed prez's knowledge of the transgressions have to do with the issue at hand?
this is even the first i've read that huntington players played for the phantoms last week. when were they released from their contracts? when were they added to the phantoms' roster? does this league have roster policies in place to prevent stuff like this from happening? i know they used to before the m&m show...
if anything, here's a prime example of why a transparent weekly transaction report would benefit everyone here.
so how many players in all left the heroes? and the coaches? do we have a list of casualties going forward?
