the repository is horrible... olive was only the legends' coach for two seasons (2006-07), not three.
mason didn't "return" in 2006, the huntington illegal players/sh!tsf*ckedup game was his first as a legend. they didn't lose another game that season after he joined the team...

Frostbite is 100% correct. Yes, the Repository is horrible. However, the Legends PR is even worse. The press release should have been ready to go when the decision was made. If the local paper can't get simple facts straight, what's that tell you about the team's impact on the community? Bad marketing = bad press.

Well I guess it's only fitting that Canton reloads right before the game in Erie. I'm glad, I really didn't want to sit through a blowout this weekend. But the Legends still suck

Here is the official, stellar press release from Slappy. CANTON LEGENDS ANNOUNCE NEW HEAD COACH Bobby is back with a new addition to his family and ours. Coach Bobby Olive returns to the Canton Legends in a lead role as head coach and will develop his coaching staff. As I spoke with Bobby, his one day old son, Trey was crying in the background. Bobby and his lovely wife San are proud parents of three children. Coach Olive brings NFL, Arena experience as well as a Canton Legends National Championship in 2006 with a number of X Buckeyes to the field. Coach Olive and Coach Korns have great chemistry with the players. Ed Korns will assume his position as offensive coordinator. See Coach Olive’s return debut, Buckeyes / Browns night, Saturday May 10th at 7pm. Come and watch the Legends get back on track with Mason, McMullen and a host of local talent. The Canton Legends are in their fourth season and play their home games at the Canton Civic Center. Don't miss a minute of the action. Season tickets are available by calling the box office at 330 489 3090. Plus, a new Repository story: www.cantonrep.com/index.php?ID=410062&Category=17&subCategoryID=0

I'm worried for Erie. We have 7 games left. 4 of them are at home. 2 home games are against Canton and 1 is against Huntington (also Huntington on the road). I don't want to lose 4 out of 7 games because teams fold and the games are cancelled. Especially those 3 home games.
EDIT: for clarity.

truly horrible press release... i wouldnt be surprised if slappy himself isnt the one writing them.
mason joined a decent team midway thru 06, but this isnt a decent team and one guy isnt going to turn them around. i hope the old man (mason) doesnt regret the comeback...

I don't want to lose 4 out of 7 games to teams that fold. Especially those 3 home games. I'm confused as to what you mean. That we won't have good competitive games for those 4 or that we could lose all 4? If you meant the latter, then I highly doubt that as many of Huntington's good players have found new teams.

I think we will beat them no problem. I'm worried that those teams won't be left to show up at all. Meaning cancelled games. It would also suck if a replacement team was brought in.

I have been told that the Legends are good for the rest of 2008. After that, who knows.
Even if Huntington deep sixes, they won't stick Erie without a home game. Might be the Philadelphia Scorpions, but it will technically be a game. As far as the away game goes, maybe you pick up an easy forfeit win.
Who knows.

Wow that press release didn't really flow. You didn't know Slappy had such mad skills. Especially for a mascot, eh?
