My plan was to get some assistance from an outsider, allowing me to GM or partner with the team. I had no idea eBay was such a powerful tool. We do not want to go anywhere. We were short on resources and did not want to have a disruption in the season so we took a proactive approach. I am not an absentee owner like many of the other teams. I was going to run a few local articles next week seeking partners, investors or supporters to get involved. Since eBay has overlapped local and national markets, we can now only wait to see what happens.
My family and others have put their hearts and souls into the Legends and want it to be successful. We have hundreds of reports, thank you notes, cards and letters expressing gratitude of tickets, jerseys, hats and other items we have supplied for charities, non profit organizations and fans. We have made many sacrifices and have overcome a number of obstacles. Since we purchased the team in 2005, we have donated over 11,000 tickets to the underprivileged and completely support the community.
It is the Canton Legends 4th season. Contrary to what some of the media is stating, I am very pleased with our talent this year. We made a conscious decision to recruit more local talent this year and we have. Our chemistry is still developing and we have lost a few very close games on the one and two yard lines this year. Despite the losses, our spirits are high and we are hungry for a win. We did not play well in Florence last week. Our local talent can compete anywhere in the country at this level. Our coaching staff will be challenged again this Saturday night at home against Augusta.
We are extremely busy getting ready for another home game this Saturday night. It takes over 150 people to put on one of our events. We have over 40 media partners and when the word got out yesterday, it was very difficult to get back to everyone who contacted me.
All ahead full with WHBC broadcasting live from the Civic Center from 10a-12p this Saturday... Stark Sports News from the home of the Canton Legends. Hope to see you at the game this Saturday at 7p kickoff. Doors open at 6p.
GO LEGENDS!
