Utah will make it they are a volunteer team practicing once or twice a week. If the ownership cared or pushed for the team as much as the players are giving up this could be huge. WTF? ?? Are you kidding me... a Volunteer team?

They will get a share of the gate after 1500 paid fans. As discussed this is not going to happen. They don't have much with sponsors so where could the money come from? The owner? I don't think he has the money to front unfortunately, if this team was paid they could have even better talent. At least they were honest with the players up front and told them that they would only make money if the team hit certain benchmarks for fans and/or sponsorship. This caused at least ten players to pull out after the first tryout and may have had something to do with the coaching change as well.

This really is a shame and honestly an eyesore for the league. I just don't know what to say except I believe there has been some misrepresentation here. Maybe not to the players from the owner but to the league from the owner. I sat and listened to him talk about how he has plans for another team in Utah and that this team is going to be more competetive than last year with Division 1 players and that would be the core of the team. Now you say all the talent left after the first practice. Which they should have. The problem with what you are saying is the people of the league, Fans and Players I'm talking about want and deserve compensation and believe all teams are on the same page in this aspect. It takes alot of work for teams to dot all the I's and cross all the T's. now with what you are saying the actual search for good ownership is a shame. I'm sorry to hear this. Seriously sorry. Since you don't get paid I guess it's safe to say you have no insurance?

I don't know the fine details as I left before they got to that point. I truely wanted to play and thought this was going to be a great chance but thought better of it when the first bit of details were released. I am glad that these guys are getting the chance to play profesional competion.
I really wanted the chance to play pro ball but the more I thought about it I would be playing pro teams but I would not be a pro because you have to be paid to be profesional at anything.

This is Huge. I feel like we really opened up a can of worms that needed to be opened. UTfan i'm truly sorry we probably all on this website have had issues with one team or another we've supported but this sounds like the worst of the worse! Good thing is 1500 sounds like a makeable number . Keep hope Alive for significant changes until then do everything you can to fill the arena by word of mouth and get those players paid for doing the profession they were brought in to do! Both teams (NM and UT) have pics up from the game saturday on their websites. Great Pics! Does the Olympic oval have Holes in the roof now from kickoffs or is the height of the arena (from the pics) just deceiving utfan?

I really wanted the chance to play pro ball but the more I thought about it I would be playing pro teams but I would not be a pro because you have to be paid to be profesional at anything. UtFan That's the point of Professional Football to be paid. And it has to be that ALL teams in the league have the same foundation for that. To be able to be competetive on the same level. here is what I know about AIFA standards for pay. $250 per game, $300 if you win. I also believe each team can have a franchise player and they make more. Now if the Saints aren't doing that then they are either 1 being false to the league about their operation or 2 the league is being false in it's perception of the quality of team ownership and at the same time being deceptive towards the fans. I pay a pretty penny for season tickets. And that is for my team to play viable competetive teams. It also helps my team travel to play viable competitive teams! We just had our RB hurt this last weekend and this is what worries me. If your competition isn't to the level it should be and someone gets seriously hurt on either side of the ball. Is it worth it for that player to even be on the field in that situation. I understand that you say you walked away. that is the smart thing to do. And yes Lionsroar this is HUGE HUGE! I am sure that this thread will not last since this has come out in the open. It is nothing but a shame for all who are involved!!

absolute shame!
and the franchise player is supposed to receive $500 dollars a game from my knowledge but I could be wrong.
I really hope they reconsider and give their fans a professional team they deserve and teams like AZ, WY, and NM deserve the best competition UT can scout and pay like the rest of the league!

come on now! we still need to support them as much as possible! The Cavs need you to plan your weekend like your going to see the seahawks and Cardinals or 49ers or 1 of their other division foes! If the Saints can catch in town they'll survive and remember this is mere speculation at this pont! I'll give as much credit as I can but really only have hear say right now! lionsroar's pick for game of the week in light of recent news :smileysaints2: vs

I wish they did have webcasts for homegames but only for the away games. I wonder if anyone listened to the radiocast for the adrenaline last weekend

#1 Utah players are paid($50minimum) so if the "talent"is holding out for the other $200 then why are most of them(talent) playing for nothing in the RMFL? This is completely my opinion but at this level, you play for a chance to get to the next level or you play because you love playing football, not for the $250 per week, More than likely its the commitment it takes to compete with the likes of WY(judging by the showing Reading had vs AZ and the way WY did not even get challenged by AZ.....Hand WY the trophy now), commitment being 4 practices per week, adjusting work schedules, and getting wives and children buying into the time it takes especially on away games, this is why the best players are not playing for the saints, The team that came up to Wyoming last year was league champion 5 or the last 6 years and they did not even practice once in the last 4 years, and thats how the players liked it, anywhere from 16 to 40 would show up on Sat and hour before game and they would kick the crap out of most any UIFL team they played, The bottom line Wyoming is most likely the best team in the aifa, as of now you have group of guys on the Utah team just trying to fill spots and by week 4 they should at the very least figured out who plays best where. Just think of the Wyoming as the Yankees aka evil empire where guys make 4x the amount the the Utah, lets call them the Kansas city Royals, team, both professional teams not playing on equal grounds.

Everybody really has to get a grip on things, miner league indoor football is very hard to sell, dont get me wrong im a huge football fan, played college and currently coach high school and i always tell everybody its still football but alot of people dont see it that way. I been to the first two Crush home games in Denver this year and they only had about 7500 fans if that at both of their homes games. I live 3 1/2 hours away from Casper and always offer to bring some of my high school players along for the game and i can't even drag them along so i don't know, i think its tough to get people converted over to indoor. I think Wyoming is very fortunate to have the fan base they bring in for the population. I proud to be a season ticket holder, love the game, but its a tough ticket to sell, or we wouldnt have all these problems.

Believe me I understand what your saying and you too Huskercavscoach.. But from what I hear Utah is handicapped from the get go because of the way the ownership has decided to do things. And why I don't know. Yea it's a tough sell to get people for indoor football but when you have no advertising and sponsorship because of the management decisions you are not gonna get the bigger talent. And you can't tell me people are dieing to play for Wyoming. Most run from the opportunity LOL..(because of Geographical reasons not team reasons) Unless there is compensation for it.. Now with that said. You cannot tell me that there are no businesses and no ways to advertise to hundreds of thousands of people in Utah. There are kid organizations out the ass to give free tickets to to draw them and their parents to the games. There are radio stations that will do ticket giveaways as well. There is no reason to draw only 450 people. Talent should be knocking on your gus door. Like what was said by Mr Curran at the press conference here, This team is gonna be Div 1 talent and more competetive than what we saw last year. Unfortunately you have to spend money to make it. Starts with sellng the product to the public... I agree that 250 isn't much but it is compensation that you guys deserve. As well as workers Comp insurance. What I don't agree on is Wyoming is the best team in the AIFA... But only time will tell..
