This whole situation does bring up an interesting point. We heard several times this year that the league was doing background checks on potential owners thus the delay in announcing teams. Selling the team this way looks like anyone can tap their 401k and buy themselves a football team.

Or buy themselves at least a season. Doesn't mean the league will take them next year.
I would love to see a contract between a team and the league. I'm suprised it even allows this type of thing without league approval.
