It's not down? Really? Then why is there message that says it is down for maintenance? It's just maintenance, no biggie. i wouldn't say that it's down.

That's probably why the BlackBirds website is down. Joe, As a polite reminder, if you don't want information on this site as to why the Blackbirds could not pay their players at the end of the season which may reflect poorly on the AIFA, it would be best not to slander the Blackbirds here. Thanks, John Yea, try reading ALL the posts in this thread before you even try to threaten or call me out.

I would say it is down. I know it is for maintenance. I know how to read. Down is down. Even temporarily down is down. And, yes... even the Mariners site is down.

I'm sure both teams are just taking their time to build a super-rad website so that everyone will logon and be super-impressed. they will both be cool. yeah.

It is not a matter of calling someone out, I still read the site, I post from time to time, I actually made quite a few friends in the AIFA last season and wish them well, and sometimes I see things posted, which I feel could be detrimental to the reputation of our organization.
That said, I do think there is a tendency on this site to squelch any opinions that are anti-AIFA, while slandering others without proof. It has been at best a trying offseason for us, as we have had to watch many false statements written about our team. There are certain details about our existence in the AIFA which I will not discuss here, or anywhere for that matter. In short, if obligations were met by others, we would have continued to pay our players on time. If negotiations were truly in good faith, I think we could have found a permanent home in the AIFA, but since neither of the above happened we felt it necessary to find a new home.
Due to last season, we are also taking things very carefully and slowly. No more rushed agreements, which bite us in the butt. There will be news forthcoming on our future, a new and improved web site, and more. When will that happen? In due time, but in the meantime we'll keep working the high road.

There will be news forthcoming on our future, a new and improved web site, and more. When will that happen? In due time, but in the meantime we'll keep working the high road. Of course there is a tendency to squelch anti-AIFA sentiment on this site. It is an AIFA fans website, not to mention the official message board of the league. We all understand that it is frustrating to sit by and see the team name being dragged through the mud. However, that is not what is happening here. Everyone for the most part has been supportive of the Blackbirds. I am still pulling for them. While I have always been an advocate for open channels of communication between team and fans, I am beginning to see a growing trend. It is almost cartoonish. And this is not directed toward you JohnW. When team management and front office, and even players get on message boards and engage in discussion it is always welcomed and appreciated. When team management and front office, and even players come onto a message board of another league and engage in a finger pointing session, it is off-putting. Indoor football across these leagues is supposed to be professional. When mud-slinging keeps ramping up it is detrimental to all leagues, not just the ones involved in the mud-slinging. Everyone is beginning to lose sight of the big picture. What is indoor football all about? It is for the fans. It is a fun product at a good value. I had fun at the Blackbirds games last season, regardless of the behind the scenes drama. I go to the games to watch football, not a soap-opera. Sure, I have ties to a team. I want them to be treated fairly. I want the players to get paid for putting on a great show. Ultimately though, that is not my job. My job as a fan is to pay my money, and in turn, expect to have fun and make friends. I managed to do that last year, regardless of the troubles behind closed doors. It has always been about the home team for me. The Blackbirds are my home team, and now so are the Mariners. I used to sit around and worry about the Blackbirds. I talked to you John quite a bit. I talked to the players quite a bit this off season as well. When this whole thing went down, I and my friends felt like children of divorce. Some of them are anti-AIFA, some of them are on board with the mariners? Why? Because of the name Baltimore at the beginning. that is truly what this has been about from the beginning.

Dave,
I must say you have undergone quite the metamorphosis. Its funny how things get interpreted, and I should know better. I did not come in here blasting the AIFA. I saw a post that was negative against the Blackbirds and felt a need to respond. Whether I am a member of the league or not, I think an honest dialogue is good for the any league. I generally just come in and read to see how things are going. As I mentioned there are many in the league I am pulling for and hope they do well, so I check in for league news. Oh well, enough on the subject from me.

I stated that it had nothing to do with you John. Talk about how things are interpreted. I never have and never will trash the Blackbirds or you or whatever league the Blackbirds are looking at. I have had time to think about the situation and I felt the best thing for me was to just step back from the drama and just be a fan again. There is a new team in Baltimore, and hopefully the Blackbirds will be here as well. Two teams for me to cheer for. Cant beat that with a stick.

Well, the website www.baltimoremariners.com is up and running. So go register and get to posting. I would like to join everyone over there, but my username that I just registered is already blocked. I didn't even get to make a single post.
