Ok, now all you Baltimore fans dont go insulting my football intelligence here. I checked to see the voting so far, in regards to the new name for the team, and i am stunned to see that Steamers is beating out Mariners 184-173? Granted neither name is very appealing but are you telling me that you want a "crab" for your logo? I sense some going on here....... ;D

A crab would be more appealing(merchandise wise) than a mariner. Which means more kid sales.

Just think of the names of teams if we expand in the New England states. Nicknames such as Lobsters and Shellfish are strong possibilities. Sorry, i dont see how any football fan is choosing the "Steamer" name. Seems to me like it was already preselected. It was down by 30+ votes but has since made a miraculous comeback & now has a 11 vote lead? ;D

The NeverMores? I get the Poe reference but that sounds ominous in regards to the future of the franchise. I will not even entertain such a thought.

The nickname "Mariners" certainly has some real appeal and with Baltimore's AIFA team known as the Baltimore Mariners, I might consider attending a couple of games at 1st Mariner Arena.
Go Mariners!!
